Well, President Trump has no legal obligation to concede but frankly, I expect him to do so in some form or other no later than the Electoral Vote count. The one good thing about the Electoral College is that it is the vote that actually elects the President and Vice President. Once those votes are accepted by Congress, there is no political or judicial avenue of appeal. An Electoral College victory is definite and final. Even Trump knows this; it's how he became President in the first place. Even if he doesn't, at that point the GSA Administrator can be legally compelled to act.

January 6 is just two weeks before Inauguration Day. That's far from ideal but Biden is almost uniquely capable of managing a transition in a short time. He knows everyone and everything about the job. He will manage it somehow.

In yet another effort to weaken the United States and strengthen Russia, Trump has fired the Secretary of Defense.

Once again, this president shows us the gap between what is legal to do and what should be done.

Impossible! You are blind to reality my friend.

Look at Germany for example, covid19 is the 17th leading cause of death. In the USA it is the third leading cause of death. That works out to be about 150,000 more deaths in the USA in comparison (on a per capita basis). For Canada it works out to be closer to 100,000 more deaths
    https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/brief/the-pandemics-effect-on-the-widening-gap-in-mortality-rate-between-the-u-s-and-peer-countries/

There's lots of these kind of charts.

Regarding your dream that it is the governors fault, What did the world's leading expert say about that? He (Fauci) said it was because the USA didn't have a nationally coordinated response.

Attorney General William Barr has authorized federal prosecutors across the U.S. to pursue “substantial allegations” of voting irregularities before the 2020 presidential election is certified, despite the push back by the left media and politicians that there is little evidence of fraud.
Maybe there is maybe there isn't.
President Trump is 100% within his rights to look into allegations of irregularities and weigh his legal options,

    No,
I hope there isn't, I hope this elections is clean as possible.
Yet President Trump and tens of millions of Americans who voted for him are within their right to confirm that.
If noting significant will be found, this is good for the process and will demonstrate that our Democracy is strong.
The victory for the ones who voted for Biden/Harry will be sweeter.
The loosing side will know they were not cheated.
How sweet Dodgers victory was this year, after the Dodgers were cheated out of the 2017 World Series title when Astros used technology to cheat during their championship season.
Obviously a lot more at stake , our country, our children's future, and more.

I'm serious here. You're making a huge logical mistake. You're assuming a phenomenon might exist--without evidence--and demanding that everything waits until it is disproved. Please tell me you're not a doctoral candidate working on a thesis.

Unlike others I will admit my mistakes if I'm wrong.
And I will give credit when its due.
I will be happy if I'm wrong and the elections were clean.

There are a few categories for evidence.
Some exist today for multiple locations in multiple states.
Once investigation progressed physical evidence will be collected if it exists.

Considering the critical nature of evidence within the court system, there are a wide variety of definitions and protocols that have evolved to direct the way evidence is defined for consideration by the court.
    1. The probative value of evidence
    2. Relevant evidence
    3. Direct evidence
    4. Circumstantial evidence
    5. Inculpatory evidence
    6. Exculpatory evidence
    7. Corroborative evidence
    8. Disclosure of evidence
    9. Witness evidence
    10. Hearsay evidence
    11. Search and seizure of evidence
    12. Exclusion of evidence
    Eye Witness Evidence
A competent, compellable, independent, eye witness with excellent physical and mental capabilities, who has seen the criminal event take place and can recount the facts will generally satisfy the court and provide evidence that has high probative value. In assessing the probative value of witness evidence, the court will consider several factors that we will discuss in more detail in our chapter on witness management. These include:

    • The witness type as either eye witness or corroborative witness
    • The witness competency to testify
    • The witness compellability to testify
    • The level of witness independence from the event
    • The witness credibility based on assessment of physical limitations

It's like, there is an office meeting deciding should A or B be done. It is decided B. Then the person that wanted A to be decided demands, it must be proven that no crimes were committed that might have impacted this decision! Okay, everyone says, what crime are you talking about? Instead of answering they say, are you saying that you support crime! We have a right to to be sure that this decision was not tainted by some kind of crime.

    Bill, Rich,
I don't think your logic is correct.
It's like a person arrives at the police station and files a complaint that someone committed crime against them. (Can be theft, or rape etc)
The Police would register the complaint and investigate it. Even if there are no apparent signs of violence on the complaining individual.
Now if multiple persons come forward and complain, should the police investigate the allegations or say right away there is no evidence?
Usually police will fill a report, dispatch someone to the alleged crime scene, they will question the accused involved, they will collect evidence and if needed involve prosecutor to build a case.

What do we have here, multiple complains of fraud. But you are saying there was no fraud, and to have the complains dismissed without an investigation.

    Dr. Douglas,

I think you do Lerner an injustice. His error is not, strictly speaking, one of logic. Rather, like most serious errors in America today, it is religious in origin. To wit: Lerner believes, being an acolyte of Donald Trump, that Hero Trump can never lose. But the election results show very clearly that Trump DID lose to Biden. Therefore the numbers must be wrong. If the numbers are wrong, there will be evidence to show how the numbers came to be wrong. QED.

By the way, Barr's memo bears reading closely. His own election investigation chief quit over it. Probably wise ; Barr is using the Justice Department once again to further Trump's personal agenda. That's quite illegal. But no fool he! Barr's memo directs DOJ attorneys to investigate "substantial" violations of election law. They have authority to do so anyway. So the real purpose of the memo is to enlist the aid of the attorneys to overturn the election results while providing Barr with "cover" in the event he is ever prosecuted for his illegal acts.
