IMO if the program is AACSB accredited, you should be fine at an AACSB schook.

I would go witht he specialization (I didn't with mine and that would have been a good thing).

Your price tag will rule out most on your list, there are some out there, but the most prestigous degrees do not fall int hat price range.

    :)

It's good to hear feedback and advice from people who have been through this. Thank you,

Since you mentioned international business have you considered a UK MBA?
For example Durham has an AASCB MBA with tuition of around $20,000. A very good school considered to be below Oxford or Cambridge.

Another factor, that I've never seen mentioned on degreeinfo but have heard it from academics (working and retired), is that skills in a second language is sometimes an important in faculty hiring - especially Spanish and Chinese - both for research and for student communication reasons. So having/acquiring a language skill might be an assert. (Perhaps the Spanish is a California centric skill.)

I don't know either these languages.

For now, I'll concentrate on finding an MBA program first :)

It's too bad that these well known schools are too costly!

I was hoping it would be $25k for the whole program, but I can go up to $30K, but not any higher.

Your advice on languages is good, I will keep it in mind.

How much do American universities know of the reputation / standing that Durham has?

How well known is Durham in the US?

I'm personally not into prestige myself. I graduated near the bottom of my high school class and dropped out of an MA in Mediaeval History before getting my two MBA degrees. As a matter of fact, I've used to post all of my grad school washouts on my sig line (and that history is detailed on the Washout Thread Sticky). Hence, both my bachelor's and my two MBAs are from easy admissions schools and hence the reason I bill myself as an educated derelict. I'll try to answer your question, but there are people around here (like Steve Forester - sp?, for example) who know far more about prestige in education than I do.

I would advise you to try to get yourself admitted to the most prestigious school you can get admitted to and pay for. You might check whether the online versions of certain degrees have the same prestige attached to them as the campus-based programs. In most cases they do, but we have had endless circle-jerk threads asserting that Harvard Extension School doesn't carry the same prestige as the main campus programs at Harvard and the University of Maryland University College doesn't carry the same prestige as the University of Maryland College Park.

Note: Even though some online programs don;'t carry the same prestige as the main campus programs, that doesn't mean you can't use their DL master's as the "foot in the door" program that might get you introduced to a professor who might be your "champion" with the admissions committee when you apply for the on-campus PhD/DBA.

The most prestigious for $30k ?

What would you say the most prestigious University/DL MBA that I can find for $30k or $35k in total cost -- that is AASCB ?

Not sure. I'm not very expert on prestige (especially debates on who is the most prestigious) and the MBA Sticky is by state rather than price. But I could go to the MBA Sticky and "tease out" some ~ $30,000 MBAs that are AACSB.

UoM is AACSB accredited, while UMUC is NOT.

    AACSB MBA's for under 30K

According to Get Educated.com there are 24 AACSB MBA's that meet your criteria. There are some very recognizable names as well (Mississippi State University, University of Nebraska - Lincoln, University System of Georgia, University of Wyoming, Auburn University, etc.).

Speaking of which, while I'm going back to the MBA Sticky to "tease out" $30,000 MBAs, there was someone else who wanted a list of $250/hr. MBAs. Could someone find that thread for me?
