bandm, if you do decide to investigate KWU as a choice, may I suggest that you go for the whole enchilada and tell them that you want to get into their PhD program? If you insist on taking 5 classes from KWU, you might as well go after the Ph.D.

    SSSSooooo,

What your saying is, I should tell them I decided to go for the PHD program instead, and they jump on that opportunity, I should see a red flag and bells and whistles?

    bandm,

If a bachelor of electronics engineering technology (DETC but not ABET) would do it for you, you might consider World College at www.cie-wc.edu

I did CIE's A.A.S. years ago and CERTAINLY got my money's worth.

I checked out Grantham, they require that you attend 30 hrs. at the campus to get you B.S.

I wonder if Grantham is seeking ABET approval?

    I'm teeling ya!, Gents,

I need that B.S. but if K-W U's degree isn't worth a crap, I need to know! Any help with a credible online college would be appreciated. I travel for my job and do nothing at night but sit in a hotel room a total of 8-9 month a year. I can utilize that time to study and seriously shed this job to stay at home and have a life.

    Thanks

No. You have to take 30 s.h. with Grantham, but not "at the campus." IIRC, Grantham has no residency requirement.

Yes, and when you report back here, we can all have a jolly good laugh.

You can tell KWU that you got a Ph.D. offer from another unaccredited school and that you're thinking of accepting it. Remember that the ex-employee said he had never heard of anyone being turned down by the admissions committee at KWU. :D

Actually, I think I am at step 5 still.

How can I be from Kansas when I have told everyone I am from Oregon? Don't tell me you guys don't believe everything you read? Besides, "Monticello" is a much more sophisticated name than "russ" and I am not that sophisticated. On step 10, nonetheless, I may be a "heretic" and therefore deserving of banishment if this board is only for true believers in the gods of accreditation.

Hi JimS. I have read posts by many people on this site that KWU is a degree mill. I have not done the research on this school other than go to their website which seems fine. Are you telling us by your post that KWU is not a degree mill? If so, can you explain why you have that position?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Re: Re: Kennedy-Western University

    Hi Russ,
Yes, I claim that KWU is not a degree mill. That is my opinion, based on:
    - my personal experiences as a student at two RA state universities,
    - my wife's experience as a student at one RA state university,
    - my son's experiences as a student at two RA state universities,
    - my experience as distance learning degree program administrator with a RA state university,
    - my experience as corporate coordinator for ACE-PONSI accreditation of corporate training programs,
    - and my understanding of the definition of degree mill.

The definition of degree mill is a good subject for a separate thread and should be debated on this site. It would be nice if such a debate could take place without people being labeled as shills, trolls, orcs or wargs. I think I will start a thread on that subject. Let's see how long it takes before it turns into a circus.

    You are welcome,
    Jim
