NPR was interesting this afternoon. President Obama has not endorsed Harris nor has Pelosi. However, other people are coalescing around Harris. Wasserman Schultz seemed to indicate a move by certain parts of the Democratic Party to avoid conflict at the convention and ensure a smooth road for Harris. Governor Whitmer has thrown her support behind Harris. But of course a significant challenger could emerge.

They were mentioning that Trump preferred Biden stay in and that there are likely to be legal challenges to the Democratic party convention because the candidate won't be picked in the primary but potentially by those running the party and rubber stamped by delegates. Speaker Johnson has apparently already said as much and said that if Biden isn't fit to fulfill the position he was chosen for he needs to step down now because he's not fit to be president. Wasserman Schultz indicated that the Democratic party has plenty of good lawyers and would be prepared for legal challenges.

    We live in interesting times.

They did mention that Harris was polling in around the same as Biden so there is still uncertainty unless she's suddenly makes a breakthrough.

Harris has had enough good news for her today! For high level offices, you want to save some endorsements for future news cycles.

Obama has too much sway within his party, so he’s saving his endorsement for whomever becomes the official nominee.

He's allowing for another candidate to emerge which is healthy. Sounds like the Democratic Party bosses don't really want that and want to encourage everybody to anoint Harris to avoid fights at the convention. One person interviewed said that that (fights) traditionally has resulted in a loss for the Democrats in the election.

I am not sure who the strong candidate would be. NPR commentator was saying that somebody would have to emerge and it would have to be a serious candidate not like Marianne Williamson. But who is a strong candidate? Newsom I guess. Would Anthony Blinken be a viable candidate?

    "Good news"? Well, maybe...

Good news for us rank and file Democrats. I'd argue, good news for the country. Not so sure about for the candidate and her family, though.

Trump is probably toast. The Republicans know it. That's why Speaker Johnson is mumbling absurdities about suing to keep Biden on the ballot.

JD Vance has no convictions. Donald Trump has lots of them.

Kamala Harris has a lot of experience prosecuting criminals. Donald Trump has a lot of experience being one.

    Should be interesting.

Nonsense. That trial, like the 2020 election, was rigged by the Democrats.

Boy, us Democrats are good at rigging stuff and leaving no trace! How do we manage that?

One perspective: Vancey is bought and paid for by Peter Thiel. Which should be disqualifying.

Mr. Trump knows he's in trouble. He's attacking Biden for getting out. That's just stupid. A complete waste of time but he's doing it anyway.

Rigging is the ropes and chains that support the masts spars of a sail boat. But when one uses an engine then no trace of any rigging need be left! (Shhhh, just don't tell the Republicans)
