A soliloquy, by definition, is when someone says something regardless of whether anyone else hears. So when I mutter to myself in my office in the morning about my favorite K-cups being out of stock that would technically qualify as a soliloquy. But the most common usage is when a person in a play speaks their thoughts directly to the audience with the implication that the other characters on stage cannot hear what is being said. All of my posts are direct responses to things other people have said. They are submitted to be read. And, of those who have commented on my posting style, it appears that half like it and half do not.

If you really need to use big words to impress us you might have simply stated that my posts are "verbose" or you could have called me "bombastic."

But any time a Marine wants to try and use a thesaurus for something other than leveling an uneven table I'm in favor. If it helps you digest my posts I can start using more pictures or, perhaps, we can discuss implementing a font that more closely resembles crayon?

 

Steve [Foerster] is right. We should be discussion something relevant, like whether a certain so-called "university" in Dominica started by Steve and one of our moderators is a degree mill.

The highest honor afforded to sailors of the United States Navy is mocking the Marine Corps. This is our birthright.

Unless, of course, the Army or Air Force is around. Then we team up.

We pair pretty nicely during actual wars as well.

 

Since you know I'm a Marine I can only keep one thing on my mind at a time...and I do know the definition of Soliloquy however some of the synonyms for it are; sermon, monologue, lecture. Which is the point my double digit IQ was getting across.


And you being the pontificating squid that you are, seem to have switched from mere name calling over to irrelevant prescriptivist autism as a way to engage with my perfectly comprehensible writing. I get it.


But pictures only work for Marines if they're black and white. We get distracted by color. Really the only color we acknowledge anyway is Blood. Blood also makes the grass grow.

Impossible to judge tone here. I just wanted to make sure it was clear that I didn't "escalate" to insulting the Marines. That was part of my de-escalation.


So yeah, glad to see you are just dishing it back rather than getting all insulted.

 

I've been called some of the most vile names, had my parents insulted, my sisters, my wife and that was just boot camp. There's never been an insult I can't take.

Is he still sulking? Does he still hang his head in shame? Never mind, that’s a rhetorical question, since Rich has never hung his head in shame, not even when it came to MIGS.

Has he joined the Trump team? Is he at the local t-shirt shop, getting a custom-made shirt that says “Doctor Doctor?”

Is he gleefully ruminating, “I’ll show them – I’ll never come back!” Is he on his way to getting a third doctorate in, um, something or other?

Yes, the mind staggers. His, not ours.

LOL excellent post. Rich won't return here. Ever. But now that this is in print, the thought of returning will at least cross his mind, but it won't gain any traction.
