Hi Rob, I'd have to say that you need to be really motivated to do the self paced courses. I was able to run on enthusiasm early on but now I'd have to do one or two more and I don't know if I can tolerate it, especially after having done the interactive courses. Interactive courses can be very much fun depending on the course and instructor. You can hang back if you want, but I'd encourage you to really get into it, lots of give and take, it'll make the semester fly by. There is lots of writing in both interactive but it's not unreasonable. The profs have all been very nice. Some give great feedback and some little or none, but I think that's common to the DL arena. I haven't had a test yet. I hope that helps, I suppose you're in the international relations program. If you are you will join plenty of military students. In my ethics class many were in the IR program and the military students were among the most impressive. Best Regards.
