I'm so tired of people calling church dealings fake. Listen you think because a "University issues a honorary doctorate it's ok. Well let me tell you a University in my Country Canada so called accredited just issued the Sedin twins (hockey players) Their honorary doctorate degree. They did jack crap but play hockey but since they paid out their back side for that it seems to be ok and they give them a ceremony for it. THE HYPOCRISY IS outrageous. I know more about the Bible and deserve a honorary doctorate a hell of a lot more then the bought ones from a university. Stop being Jealous because you paid 200 thousand for something i worked 35years for in the Church.

 

Someone's got their panties in a bunch. So much to talk about, but I'll just say this. You do know an honorary doctorate isn't the same as a doctorate that was worked for in the traditional way. You list an honorary doctorate under your awards or accomplishments section of your resume and not your education section. Anyone who claims to be a doctor with only having an honorary degree is unprofessional. Plus what does a fake school who sells "real" doctorates for $30 have to do with a real school who issues an honorary degree?

 

Sounds like sour grapes to me. The Sedin twins weren't awarded the honorary degree because of their hockey prowess. From Dr. Alan Davis, President and Vice-Chancellor, at the award ceremony at Kwantlen Polytechnic U. : "But what people may not know about the Sedins is that they demonstrate the same integrity and selflessness off the ice through their service to their communities, and in particular to children in those communities.”

The twins support a number of local charities, most notably the Canucks For Kids Fund, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Canucks Autism Network, and BC Children’s Hospital.

So - they were awarded an honorary degree for years of charitable work. And now you're pissed because you did church work for 35 years and didn't get one. Too bad. If that's what you really wanted - maybe you were doing the work for the wrong reason.
