We are screwed either way at the moment. We have an incredibly incompetent Administration (President and Vice President) under whose watch Americans are having trouble paying for housing, have lost thousands in buying power. We are adding part-time jobs.
The President is a walking Saturday Night Live skit.

On the other hand Trump presents no reasonable alternative. None.

Instead, we can amuse ourselves watching the Melendez corruption. Reminds me of the Clinton scandal (not Bill) where he was hiding cash in his freezer. Then we have Fetterman. Comedy Central in the government.

There you go, dashing my hopes again... thanks a lot! Then again, Trump is not your average narcissist. He's way beyond that, so... maybe it's still possible.

This is demonstrably false. Biden has gotten more done as president in his first term than any other president in modern memory. One may or may not agree with WHAT he's accomplished, but the accomplishments are there.

This position does not agree with untrustworthy sources like Fox or Newsmax.

    Fox:
A questionable source with extreme right bias and mixed rated accuracy of reporting.
    • Overall, we rate Fox News right biased based on editorial positions that align with the right and Questionable due to the promotion of propaganda, conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, the use of poor sources, and numerous false claims and failed fact checks. Straight news reporting from beat reporters is generally fact-based and accurate, which earns them a Mixed factual rating.
    MBFC Credibility Rating: LOW CREDIBILITY

Or even worse untrustworthy sources like Newsmax.

    Newsmax:
A questionable source with extreme right bias and low rated accuracy of reporting.
    • We rate Newsmax Right Biased and Questionable based on the promotion of conspiracy theories and pseudoscience as well as numerous failed fact checks.

Under what metrics, exactly? Inflation is worldwide. And American inflation is less than in many countries. If there's a cost of living issue in the US it wasn't caused by Biden.

Biden has also passed plenty of consequential legislation in an extremely partisan Congress: https://www.npr.org/2023/01/01/1143149435/despite-infighting-its-been-a-surprisingly-productive-2-years-for-democrats

Yeah, Biden knows what he is doing alright. Experience tells. I have an uneasy feeling, though, that he and the House Democrats are just munching popcorn and watching the House GOP drive the government into a shutdown with no clear strategy for starting back up.

Jeffries could make a clear proposal, a power sharing proposal even, that would save McCarthy's gavel and freeze the lunatic Right out of influence. I'm not saying McCarthy would take it but a public proposal might force the Freedom Caucus to reconsider their lunacy. But no. The Democratic leadership says they've received no call from McCarthy so they're sitting on their hands, "helpless". Nonsense. They're helpless only because they don't want to bail McCarthy out. I get it but the welfare of the country really should come before scoring political points.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/07/11/part-time-jobs-economy/

"Businesses are starting to cut workers’ hours, forcing hundreds of thousands of people into part-time roles, in what could be an early warning sign for the economy.

The number of people who worked part time, but want to work full time, rose by 452,000 in June, the biggest jump in more than three years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In all, 4.2 million people were employed part time for economic reasons beyond their control, a 12 percent increase from the month before."

    Etc, etc

"The average American renter is now paying more than 30 percent of their income on housing, as wages have failed to keep up with rent hikes and affordable units remain scarce, a new report shows. The nation is falling short of the demand for affordable housing by at least a million homes in some estimates."

In the next line they say "Economists warn against making too much of a single data point." Speaking of which, while that number did rise from the month before, it was higher in January and February of 2020 (pre-pandemic) under Trump. People want to work full time when they perceive the economy is doing badly, not because it actually is.

Wages haven't kept pace since the 70s. Can't blame that on anyone but landlords.

I'm not sure this can be said with certainty. Has McCarthy even reached out to Hakeem? I'm not seeing any evidence of it.

This goes for all three posts: And what, exactly, are you expecting the president to do about this?

Or, since you're calling Biden incompetent, what did he do to cause this?

Actually, if Jefferies and McCarthy were trying to work something out it would look exactly like it does now. They would be working in private. So we really can't tell if folks are sitting on their hands or are busy behind the scenes. If the Republican MAGA crazies found out about anything going on behind the scenes they would torpedo it immediately.

It would probably make the most sense for McCarthy, Jefferies, McConnel and Shumer to work on some compromise and pass it in the senate first. Only then making any agreement becoming known. McCarthy could even argue that he knew nothing about it.

I did a Goggle search of "Biden is incompetent". I was looking for a mostly factual source. I got a hit on Daily Trust, which is rated Mostly Factual by MBFC.

    https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/daily-trust-bias/

    Here's the article:
Trump: Biden Is Incompetent, Not Too Old

    The article says
“And Biden’s not too old,” Trump added. “But I think he’s incompetent, and that’s a bigger problem.”

Biden, who overcame a stuttering problem as a youth, has often been mocked for his verbal stumbles.

But he remains trim, physically active, does not drink and is often seen riding his bicycle during weekends at his Delaware home.

Democrats say he also fares well on the competency front, having overseen the passage of major legislation, including a massive infrastructure bill, the largest gun-safety bill in decades, and the Build Back Better social spending program.

Biden has also been active on the global stage. Indeed, during his just-ended trip to Vietnam – which analysts say was staged partly to highlight his vigor – that country’s 79-year-old Communist leader smilingly complimented Biden on his relative youth.

Trump, for his part, has gotten mostly positive marks during annual physicals – though he has been classed as overweight and does no exercise other than golf. Like Biden, he does not drink.

Trump, too, has had his share of bizarre verbal moments, mangled pronunciations and physical stumbles.

But in the NBC interview, he said his own age does not concern him, noting that his parents had long lives.
    https://dailytrust.com/trump-biden-is-incompetent-not-too-old/

The source has at least the accuracy I was looking for but it is just parroting Trump's words about Biden being incompetent. Daily Trust doesn't claim that Biden is incompetent, only that Trump said he was without providing any support for his assertion. So I give up. I'll let Garp continue the search. Perhaps he can do better backing up his own statements than I can.

Biden is a good 15 years younger than my piano teacher and SHE would make a GREAT President!
