Just finished and thoroughly enjoyed Terry Pratchett's final novel, "Dodger." We shall miss him.

I came across my old hardcover copy of Tom Clancy's Patriot Games, and only intended to flip through it, but it's drawn me back in completely.

Good choice. I'm sure we can overlook the fact that in movies, he's already served his two terms.

But if for any reason he can't serve in the US, perhaps around 2020 we could elect him Prime Minister of Canada.

Both our countries have now elected the son of a former leader. Hmmm. :frown: And back a few years, the US elected a former movie actor.
We've never tried that, so... Dan Aykroyd? Mike Myers? Donald Sutherland? Naah! WILLIAM SHATNER!

Well, they say that politics is show business for ugly people, but Justin Trudeau's already broken that particular glass ceiling, so....

Once upon a time I got hooked on the "Travis McGee" novels by John D. McDonald. You know, the ones that all have a color in the title? I read them all, in the order they were written. It was interesting because the character aged as the series progressed. I think the books were written over a period of 20 years (or something like that). It was sad because McDonald died before he finished the last book. I hoped for a while that someone would finish it for him but I don't think it ever happened. So it really was . . .
