Just finished and absolutely loved Mr. Penumbra's 24-hour Bookstore. A wonderful story, charming writing, and a major inside look at the Google workplace.

Started reading Saint Thomas Aquinas' Treatise on Law but lost my place. I guess I'll start over reading Aquinas' Treatise on Law.

Aquinas is very difficult to read. But I'll finish it and I'll post when I do.

Hi, I have been in the mood to read an American Novel. I'm about to start with pages now. Its " The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. Its a story full of love despite of memory loss.

I always see too many serious titles on this list. Here are some of the recreational scifi novels I have enjoyed lately:

Alan Black, Metal Boxes - Two books in the series and just great fun to read.
Alan Black - Titanium Texican - If you are from Texas or even close you have to read this book. This is the one that lead me to Metal Boxes.
Christopher Nutall - Falcone Strike, Vanguard, The Black Sheep, etc. This prolific author is one of my favorite.
Jonathan Howard - The Brothers Cabal. A great series that you should check out.
David Feintuch - The Seafort Saga - A series of like 7 books but worth the time. I read them all in a row and enjoyed every one of them.
Neal Stephenson - Seveneves. If you like his other books you will like this one.
Kim Stanley Robinson - Aurora. I really tried to like this book as I normally like his stuff. However this one did not engage for me.
Richard Kadrey - Sandman Slim books. Snarky and a blast to read. I can't wait for the next one.
William Weber - Last Stand series. If you like the post-apocalypse genre then you will like this series.

    Have fun!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've read some Stephenson (Snow Crash, Zodiac, Cryptonomicon) and liked them all so I'll try Seveneves. I'm all about the Apocalypse so I will have to check out that Weber series. Thanks again.

Seveneves is on my list, as is Reamde. I basically lived Cryptonomicon from 2000 to 2003, so it will always be my favorite of his.

Seveneves was good. I listened to it on CD over the course of a couple weeks worth of commuting.
