Interesting post because I thought the entire USDLA was a sham, a completely made up website like the Ray University website but then I saw they were listed on the Western Governors university website, and they are a reputable college as far as I know.

No. USDLA is real. However, its membership--accessible to almost everyone--is often touted by mills as if it was accreditation.

    Catatonic State University

"Maybe there should be a degreeinfo channel on Youtube. There might be potential for some funny parody videos here."
    ---------------------------
Oh, if only. In 1986 or 87, a friend and I put on a live Monty Python-like performance at a major education convention. Just 7 or 8 minutes. Much merriment. The school we were 'advertising' was Catatonic State University, located in Connecticut along the banks of the Catatonic River.

And before that . . . there used to be a tradition, at the national conference of the Association for Education in Journalism, to have one bogus presentation. I was invited to deliver it one year, in Chapel Hill. I appeared as Dr. John Selwyn Marsh of Bering Straits University, Cape Prince of Wales, Alaska ("the oldest permanent floating seat of higher education in the frigid zone"). The topic of the paper was a new approach to measuring brand preferences. Essentially, the technique was setting fire to people's houses at 3 in the morning, and observing which products they chose to save. People just sat there taking notes. One person filed a complaint, saying that the research methodology was unethical.

I get it. Does that mean I'm old?

No - just "getting on," Ted. It will be 40 years, next Nov. 17 since Richard Nixon uttered that oft-remembered line. I can remember trying to explain to my three-year-old son why I was so upset, when I heard it!

Ray University and Nixon University have the same fax number, in Corpus Christi, Texas. What an astonishing coincidence.

This isn't a crook we're dealing with- it's much worse. If we just line up the various names this entity uses as a front:

    Ray University
    Nixon University
    MUST University
    RISE University

    I'm scared :(

Nothing I admire more than a flawlessly-executed prank, Dr. Bear. Great story! It ranks right "up there" with your successful registration of "Totally Fraudulent University" with the United Nations. Good ol' TFU! Go Frauds!

    FAKE STAY AWAY!!!

I bought a degree from them because I needed it for a visa application some time ago. They have been trying ever since to get me to pay more money for all sorts of things, Legalization is various countries, threat of not getting visas in countries etc..

    The latest one they sent me was this;

    -------

Your Degree has been cancelled so do not use the Documents and you will be hearing soon from your Local Ministry.

Note: University is not responsible for any legal action that is going to be taken place from legal authorities of United States and University is not responsible to do the verification of your Degree. US Dept of States will black listed your profile so in future you can not apply for US Visa or Immigration and you can not enroll yourself for higher education in any US based University.

Good luck for your future and thank you for your time.

If you have any queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at our toll-free number: 1-888-407-3570 Ext. 8130.

    Regards,
    Daniel Adams

They called me about the same time and threatened that If I didn't pay they would inform the ministry and I would be kicked out of the country. I told him to go and get "F*&K)ed" and hung up! what a horrible organization...

Please do not go anywhere near them, they are a scam and have no moral values on how they go about their business.

    I hope this message helps.

So you deliberately bought a fake degree so that you could, essentially, lie on a visa application? Some might say that you got what you deserved.
