I'm going to be really charitable and assume you're just hopelessly naive.

That's like saying that MAGAs chant "build the wall!" because they want to have a nice shade available for the picnics they'll have together with migrants who cross the border.

Hamas's most recent actions of kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder made it politically impossible for Israeli policymakers not to try to destroy them. Hamas's leaders, safely living lives of luxury in Qatar, knew this and directed their operatives to hide themselves, their arms, and their bases among Palestinian civilians to ensure that those civilians would be killed as part of their PR war.

There's no way to understand that and still argue in good faith that only the Israelis are to blame here.

Since you're using quotes, that means you can point to where I used that word, right?

There is much practicality and truth in the post.

What is causing me concern is the far-right political movement in Israel. I think this is a primary source of Israeli settlements being established illegally on Palestinian land and much of the other activities that have caused International condemnation of Israel. This movement is what Netanyahu is clinging to so that he can stay in power. They seem to have especially strong hatred of Palestinians and Moslems.

Far right is getting support because of the Palestinian terror. Just like right now in EU, right parties are getting larger support because of issues we discussed in other threads

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/multiple-casualties-reported-suspected-terror-163436440.html

At least six people were killed, and several others injured in a shooting Tuesday night in Tel Aviv, Israel, according to a statement from the Israeli Police Spokesperson's Unit.
Both of the two Palestinians shooters have been killed.

    Also:
IDF stated that Hezbollah was ready to invade en masse after Oct. 7, we covertly raided 1,000 sites.
    The army reveals 3,000 terrorists were in position to storm Galilee; strikes drove them away;
Israeli commandos then carried out 70 forays into Lebanon to seize weapons, raze sites and tunnels.
Some 2,400 Radwan terrorists and another 500 Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists — trained by Radwan — had been waiting in southern Lebanon villages to attack Israel in the days after Palestinian terror group Hamas carried out its October 7, 2023.

Iran fired 180 ballistic missiles at Israel. First wave.
Israelis all over the country were in bomb shelters. Most of missiles intercepted, some fell in open areas.

    Israel will strike back.

This is a direct hit from one of the hundreds of Iranian ballistic missiles launched at Israel today, which ended up landing in the Palestinian city of Jericho
Unfortunatly there are reports of a Palestinian casualty.
That's what happens when you spend billions on terror instead of air defense systems or bomb shelters.

That makes it sound like the Israelis would allow the Palestinian Authority to develop sophisticated defense capabilities in the West Bank, and that's certainly not so.

I hear you, just was to highlight that at the minimum bomb shelters.

The point was they invest in terror and don'tdefending their people.

Hypocrisy of UN, and anti-Israel bias.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz announced Wednesday that Antonio Guterres was barred from Israel, after the UN Secretary-General failed to directly condemn Tehran for the 181 ballistic missiles it launched at the country, which forced millions of Israelis to seek shelter Tuesday night.

Declaring Guterres persona non grata, Katz accused the UN chief of kowtowing to “Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and now Iran — the mothership of global terror,” of failing to denounce the October 7 attacks and of neglecting to brand Hamas a terrorist organization.

The move is sure to deepen the already wide rift between Israel and the UN. Germany, which summoned Iran’s envoy to condemn the attack, said Katz’s declaration was unhelpful.

Less than a decade ago, I published a document that predicted the terrible day, and the officials canceled it with a wave of the hand. Although only a state commission of inquiry will draw real conclusions, it is critical to understand how to prevent the next disaster. Israel needs to exact a price from its enemies, and understand that the US has a different order of priorities | Chairman of Israel Beytinu in a special column.

There is no such a thing as agreement with Terror Organization.
By default, they would use it to their advantage and break it the time they feel serves the terror group needs.

It's been, what, about a week and a half since Iran fired 181 missiles into Israel. What are folks opinions? I'll guess that Israel is going to bomb something significant but avoid nuclear facilities. Bombing oil infrastructure is more likely. If Israel bombs one of these two then it will put great stress on the USA Israel relationship. The third item on the list might be the Iranian religious leadership. Bombing any of these three I'll guess will cause the Iranians to escalate. Maybe bombing the oil infrastructure of their neighbors since Iran seems unable to penetrate Israel's Iron dome.

edit: one possibility might be to bomb just one oil refinery or something, more as a warning.

Samir Geagea, Hezbollah's prominent political opponent, who heads the Lebanese Forces (Christian) party, speaks out today for the first time since the assassination of Nasrallah regarding the situation in Lebanon and the appointment of a president:
We must reach a ceasefire We must appoint a president for Lebanon who will commit before his appointment to the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions: 1701, 1559, 1680 (all of which deal with the situation in southern Lebanon and the need to disarm Hezbollah alongside the control of the south by the Lebanese army). The president should clearly commit that strategic decisions (such as going to war) will only be made by the state alone The president should commit that all military powers will be relinquished to the army and there will be no weapons in the hands of other organizations.

One possibility is like with pagers, some internal operation related to sensitive sites.
With limited attack on strategic military sites.
From what is circulating in media, most countries denying the use of their airspace by Israel, after Iranian threths.

The UN cannot say they didn't know. Six years ago, Israel told the UN:
•Hezbollah was digging tunnels to invade Israel, kidnap and attack Israeli civilians, and capture Israeli territory • Embedding missiles in civilian homes is a war crime under the Geneva Conventions • UNIFIL must enforce Resolution 1701
The UN knew. They did nothing
    Video from Dec 2018.
UNIFIL is accused of being acomplces to Hezbollah, and accepting bribes in large amounts of money. Why they are guarding Hezbollah facilities?

United Nations peacekeepers will stay in all positions in Lebanon despite Israeli calls for them to move, given intensifying fighting between Israel and Hezbollah and five blue helmets suffering injuries, the UN peacekeeping chief says.

“The decision was made that UNIFIL would currently stay in all its positions in spite of the calls that were made by the Israel Defense Forces to vacate the positions that are in the vicinity of the Blue Line,” says UN peacekeeping chief Jean-Pierre Lacroix.

The IDF and Israeli Government have made repeated calls in recent days to UNIFIL to evacuate from active combat zones, arguing that Hezbollah has been using its positions as human shields.

Speculation is that there is a lot of money being made there.

How are they making money? Or, what's the speculation for them possibly making money?

Speculation is that Hezbolla with help of Iran are bribing seniour officers and posibly other UN Officials.
Allowing Hebollah to violate UN resolution 1701 that they are responsible to keep.

Yippee! The administration is trying harder to save Israel from themselves! Having a couple of million mostly innocent folks having to live like rats in Gaza is making Israel look really really bad.

US suggests military aid to Israel is at risk in letter demanding more aid for Gaza
    quote:
    CNN —
The Biden administration sent a letter to the Israeli government demanding it act to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza within the next 30 days or risk violating US laws governing foreign military assistance, suggesting US military aid could be in jeopardy.

Israel got a shower of rockets this morning.
Usualy in the media: every time there's news about Lebanon/Gaza, it's always with a picture of a crying person with a frightened look in his eyes, better yet a child, When the news is about attacks in Israel, it is an ambulance on the road from a distance, most of the times.
