While I didn't watch the Chargers, I did watch the reviews, I don't think the Colts have anything to worry about!

Considering that the Colts lost to the Chargers back in November I think you may be overstating the case. But even if the Colts win they better hope that there are no important injuries because they're going to have to bring their absolute best game if they want to beat the Patriots.

With all that said I'm guessing that the Colts will win (in a close game).

    My predictions:

    The Pats beat the Jags

    The Colts beat the Chargers

    The Cowboys beat the Giants

    The Packers beat the Seahawks

The Patriots will beat the Cowboys in the Superbowl.

So that klutz Brady fails to complete two passes. Surely this is the beginning of the end for the Pats.

I'm not really surprised that the Chargers beat the Colts but I am very surprised that the Giants beat the Cowboys. But, as it's said, that's why they play the games.

I've been a Cowboys fan for 35 years. However, I wasn't surprised when the Giants won. Neither Tony Romo nor Wade Phillips have ever advanced past the first game of the playoffs. Currently, the Dallas-Fort Worth media is feasting on anything Cowboys-related.

Two possible scenarios going forward: 1) The Pack lives up to their tradition in the Tundra and meet the Pats in the Superbowl, in which case the Pats ultimately win in a classic.

    2) The Giants come out-of-their-minds hungry, beat the Pack at Lambeau, only to get blown out by New England in the big show.

I never would have believed that the Cowboys AND the Colts would both be eliminated in the same day. That's what makes the playoffs so interesting, although the AFC Championship Game is now just not quite as compelling.

OTOH, I'm glad I don't have to watch Peyton Manning pout and sulk on Sunday. :D

I'm originally from Indiana and currently living in Texas, so I really feel the same pain :( :( :(

I'm not ready to write them off yet; there is still a lot of bad blood because of the Patriots' comeback victory to eliminate the Chargers from the playoffs last year, although the comments of Chargers' players after that game (especially LaDanian Tomlinson) are tailor-made bulletin board material.

I'll be at the game (predicted 10-15 degree temp at kickoff), it should be good.

The Chargers are going to take the field with three of their most important players injured. Rivers may start the game but I doubt he'll finish it. The projected high temperature for game day is 24 degrees. By half-time it could be in the single digits. Those San Diego hothouse flowers will freeze as the Pats win in a blow-out (31-10).

I just don't understand why coaches have allowed their players to trash-talk in the media about the Patriots this year. If I were Norv Turner, I would have instituted a complete gag order immediately after the Colts game.

One interesting side story; after being released by San Diego and essentially being called "washed-up", do you think Rodney Harrison and Junior Seau might be a wee bit motivated for this game?

Patriots vs. Giants in the Super Bowl.

As much as I feel good for Tom Coughlin (former Boston College coach), I also have to feel a bit bad for Brett Favre and the Packers.

I wanted the chance to settle the score of Super Bowl XXXI.

This has all the makings of a great game. I didn't get to watch much of the Giants yesterday but, how tough can it get? To win in overtime in those conditions, very impressive. I think the Pats will win it but this will not be an easy victory.

    You're not going to offer a 30-point spread? :D

I've been pretty good about picking winners but I've been pretty bad about picking scores. Once upon a time I worked in an iron shop that had a football card and I bet the card every week. I never expected to win. Instead, I used it as a way to get to know the guys around the shop. There were side bets and I don't mind saying that I bought more than a few beers during those years. It's just a fun part of a social system in which I grew up.

Since you brought it up Ted, I'd be willing to make a small bet with you. Are you willing to bet against the Patriots in the Superbowl? While I'm quite confident that the Pats will win I've got to say that if there was ever a game to bet against them then this is it. I'll bet you a dollar, Ted. Go on, take the bet.

Gosh, I'm such a poor boy I don't know if I could afford to make such a bet. :D

It's OK Ted, I understand. After all, a man like you works hard for his money and so doesn't want to just give it away.

I just checked and the line seems to be 11.5 points. I'll give you 12 points. Take the Giants and 12 points for a bet of one dollar. Remember, I'm really quite bad a guessing the points. Take the bet Ted. I'm good for it.

I hear the over/under is 54 points. I'll take the high side!
