D.Sc. at Dakota State - Completed Today!

    Hi Everyone!

    Just thought I'd share a bit good news with the board. I successfully defended my dissertation today and have completed the D.Sc. program at Dakota State University. I selected a specialization of Information Assurance and Computer Security.

    I started the program in August 2009 and my degree will officially post on May 2013. So a total of 3.5 years to complete the program or so. Dakota State accepted my M.S. in Information Systems as the equivalent of their MSIS degree and I was able to waive quite a bit of the masters level courses.

    Overall a great experience!

    Yeah, my dissertation was on municipal e-government security. Essentially looking at how secure local city websites were compared to the federal e-government security requirements set forth by the NIST SP800-44 document.

    Hi Roscoe,

    Actually yes. As part of my program I was required to publish at several conferences. For my own benefit and development I plan to continue to publish the final findings of my dissertation at upcoming conferences.
