      Greetings:
I am new to postings on degreeinfo, but have followed most if not all your posts and degree completion. I plan on applying to Pretoria for a PhD in Theology, but have these questions and to tap into your wide experience:
      - Is it possible to do a research paper from the USA, on a theological matter as it relates to an XX African country?
      - Would it be necessary to visit the African nation, since I will not necessarily conduct surveys? (although, I may use future evangelism trip to garner some information).
      - What methodology would be appropriate in this instance?

I did also, sent same post to CLSeibel for his opinion

      Many thanks for your insight.

Saw an older post where you were considering Auckland Park. I'm in that place now. I'm considering Auckland Park and SATS. Both have provisionally accepted me. Auckland's Principal has committed to promote my studies, (didn't know if that would actually help communication issues). Simply, I'm wondering your experiences with Auckland? Do you pursue? If not, what deterred you? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I am an author, ghostwriter, former (award-winning) newspaper reporter, copywriter, Christian minister, and independent scholar of Church History, specializing in Pentecostal church history. I’m currently researching F.F. Bosworth, Anne Moody and Ernest Hemingway. I’m a former columnist for two national publications: Fund Raising Management magazine (Hoke Communications Inc.) and Publishers' Auxiliary (National Newspaper Association). In terms of my education, I earned my Ph.D. in Church History and Polity at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. My doctoral research focused on the life history of F.F. Bosworth, author of Christ the Healer. I hold a Master of Arts in Religion from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pa., and a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies from East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, N.C. During the early part of the 1980s, I completed a writing course through the Christian Writers Guild under the guidance of Norman B. Rohrer. The course, which lasted more than three years, was called, Discover Your Possibilities in Writing.
