"Amber Luke, who is dubbed “Blue Eyes White Dragon” by pals"

As someone whose kids played Yu-Gi-Oh, I laughed out loud at this. That's funny! :emoji_laughing:

Look for more of this in the future. The trend is clear and there's no reason to think it will shift downward. Piercings, tattoos, extreme makeup will all become more common.

This is all herd-following by people imagining they are being rebellious by being faddish. Piercings have lessened for becoming mundane and tats seem to be doing the same. The follow-ups to the other fads must now be increasingly extreme to get any notice.

Agreed, but now they are marked (or mutilated) for life. Forever. Even "tattoo sleeves" are becoming popular. It is reminiscent of prison life.

House season 1 episode 19 - I've already seen this show, and agree with Decimon. A real rebel doesn't care what people thinks- she's all about it.

My wife's a true rebel. No tats or piercings or leather, she spends almost no time on her appearance, doesn't follow any trend. She hardly ever wears makeup, doesn't get her hair done (cuts her own, you read that right, stands in front of the mirror with the scissors out and goes to it) and in our part of the Deep South (we're transplanted midwesterners), that brands you as trashy, trailer park. If one of our small children spills something down her shirt, she'll just go into town with the stain. If she feels like farting, she farts. She was well known for her Christian faith back in school, but when a lesbian asked her to prom, she figured, "What the heck, she's a friend, and it'd hurt her feelings to turn her down, so why not?" And she, very straight, went to prom with her lesbian friend and they danced and had a good time--and my wife did not care one whit for any rumors anyone wanted to spread. Let 'em talk was her attitude. That's a rebel.

This, and she's a Math major IT talent. You have exquisite taste in partners, FTFaculty. Very, very cool.

Thanks, I married up big time. I, of modest intelligence, son of high school dropouts, married the valedictorian and daughter of a couple profs, and got in with that crowd and just trying to keep up with them, managed to slip into academia (not like that's a big thing, of course, 10 years out my students realize this when they come back for alumni events in their 5 Series BMWs and see me in my 18 year old Corolla). She taught math at Big Uni and put me through law school as her dependent.--I owe her. I think she's the bomb, of course, but am a little biased. She does have a sharp tongue, though, and simply will not put up with my crap or strutting--but I guess that's not such a bad thing.

She looks like the forbidden princess in a sword-and-sorcery movie. If that's your thing, fly that freak flag proudly.

It's so good that no one is being judgmental, making assumptions about other people's motivations, believing they understand what is in someone else's mind, without ever meeting them. Very positive.

This has been going on for a while. I watched a Lockup episode several years ago that showed two inmates who tattooed their eyes.

Yeah, I saw that episode. They tattooed the red I believe.
