Good question, but I don't think they need a goal, strategy, or even much of a plan to conduct terrorism.

No. They don't. That's true. The paranoia combines badly with assault weapons.

As far as the grievance culture, it's true that everyone from Black Lives Matter to the Rural GOP voter claim deep grievances. Some of these grievances are legitimate. Others less so. Basically, though, I think the real grievance is that these people don't think anyone is listening to them. This is nothing new in the history country. We will survive. We've been through worse.

Speaking of grievances, Time magazine just put Biden and Harris on the cover as People of the Year. Trump has been petulant in demanding that honor for himself. I bet he's livid.

The designation is about notoriety, not merit. It is why Hitler was awarded it, for example.

Turning over the government it noteworthy, sure. But I would have been fine with the either of the other two non-Trump finalists. Healthcare (particularly regarding the coronavirus pandemic) and racial (in)justice were both hot topics this year.

You could even make a case for Trump, but not in a good way. The difference between fame and infamy.

Well, Time Magazine's Person of the Year cover is selected based upon one criterion only: Will it sell magazines?

So Trump was never on the cover because the Trump base doesn't read

Do you guys ever step back, read what you type, and feel even a little embarrassed? Or do you just double down every time?

What, you think he's NOT livid?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Just like those Supremes to get all judgmental and decision-y. They've got some nerve!

Now what will Republicans do to subvert democracy?

I know you're serious, but have you looked at all at the way Trump has behaved for the past 4 years?

You should. It would shock you.

You know, it's just not fair. McConnell went to the trouble of subverting the entire democratic process to get Trump a nominee for the SCOTUS, then he led the way to confirm two really putrid selections, and they can't even be grateful enough to come through for Trump and McConnell when they wanted to steal just one little ol' election. Ingrates.

And Republicans! What's with them? Gee, they can't overcome millions of votes and overturn some election results in order to re-install a fascist idiot? Weren't they ready or anything?

I'm very disappointed in them all. I guess we're still going to have elections in the future after all. What a pain.

The Supreme Court rejected the Republicans' bid to steal the election from its victors--the voters--a few hours ago. OANN still doesn't have anything on this development; their piece on the suit still speculates that SCOTUS might give the election to Trump.

How are we suppose to keep up with the REAL news?

Thankfully, Fox News has it. Whew!

One page order that basically says how other states conduct their elections is none of Texas' business. Yep. Notice what they did not say, though. No comments about the merits of the claims having been litigated to death in lower courts. The Supreme Court just did not want to say ANYTHING about whether Trump is a bald faced liar. Wise of them. Silence is golden.

One legal commentator pointed out something I hadn’t thought about. The way the Supreme Court denied Texas' application is much broader than it appears. It gives notice that the Court won't entertain ANY such suit by a state against another state for how the latter conducts an election. My own gloss is that the unspoken doctrine is state sovereignty after all even though the Court did not invoke that doctrine explicitly.

Trump lost the election AGAIN. Prediction, he will still lose even more times. It is his way of resuscitating his cash cow for another round of milking.

Republicans used to believe in that. Until they didn't.

They used to believe in individual freedom, small government, fiscal discipline, and a strong defense. Until they didn't. (Waiting for Trump to veto the defense authorization bill.)

The remaining theater of battle will be in the joint session where the votes are counted. Trump's supporters will fail there, too.
