Miracles and Massacres: True and Untold Stories of the Making of America. Glenn Beck, 2014.

Dreamers and Deceivers: True Stories of the Heroes and Villains Who Made America. Glenn Beck, 2014.

I don't normally read too many books by political hacks, but I picked up Miracles and Massacres for a long flight to Singapore the other day. It turned out to be really good. It is a series of short stories that tell about as single aspect of American history. I enjoyed it so much I picked up the second book that was similar and it was similarly good. If you are looking for deep and detailed analysis this is not for you. This is light reading.

Indeed it is! Another one you may like, here:
Iron Man: My Journey through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath - Tony Iommi

I bought that one for my younger son (42) a few months ago. Both my sons were avid Black Sabbath fans in their teens. Doesn't seem to have damaged them (or me) one bit!

It just occurred to me that there's probably enough literature, hard data, analysis and performance for a degree in Heavy Metal. For once, I seem to be right. It's possible in the UK at Nottingham Trent University. College launches UK's first Heavy Metal degree - Telegraph

Perhaps we might someday see an M.Oz. degree - the study of Ozzy Osbourne.
