Ah, so moderate. Very nice.

 

I've been an admin/moderator since this site was created, and other than spammers (hundreds if not thousands of whom have fallen victim to my "Ban User" button) I can count on one hand the number of people who I've banned, either permanently or temporarily, and those I have banned were repeatedly warned and given numerous chances.

Likewise, it's very rare for me to close a thread, unless things have gotten completely out-of-hand....I'm probably the most tolerant moderator in that regard, as I always try to err on the side of a free flow of opinion and debate. Notice I didn't say "right of free speech", as this is a privately-owned website, so there is no right to free speech here.

Having said that, this thread is starting to edge toward the point that I'm considering closing it. Everyone please take a deep breath and settle down.

 

Not sure what you're worried about Bruce. Nobody's violating the TOS. A bit of spirited discourse. Some differences of opinion. What's the problem?

Why, based on the chance that "something" might go wrong? If that was the case let's lock all the threads unless they discuss puppies and sunshine

 

After much thought, I'm going with my instinct on this one, along with something my father used to love to say "Nothing good is going to come from this".
