I have no clue where that video came from. Listen folks, it is best to ignore news from unknown sources. This is a general statement.

Now then, as far as what is being said in the video (I didn't watch the whole video), it is discussing the 45 Palestinians recently killed in a Rafah camp. I have seen in other reliable sources that there are some suspicious details that indicate the fire could have possibly been caused by a gas tank or perhaps even Hamas munition storage. The bottom line is that they are still trying to investigate what really happened just give them some more time.

    Bill,
Yes, it's an unofficial reporting, but well regarded.
On the video is Doron Spielman. He is known for his duty as Israel Defense Forces - IDF - IMB spokesperson and also volunteer at ICSO.
IDF - IMB - (International Media Branch) English-speaking staff include Maj. Roni Caplan, Maj. Libby Weiss, Maj. Arieh, Lt.-Col. Amnon Shefler, and Maj. Doron Spielman.
IMB under command of , Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, a spokesperson to international media and commander of IDF social media activities.
After Lerner's retirement, Lt. Col. Richard Hecht became head of the International Media Branch. After Oct 7th 2023 - Lerner (not related to me) returned to the IDF and joined Hecht in the IMB
Doron Spielman - also participates in the Israeli Citizen Spokespersons' Office of citizen journalists.
Who are citizen spokespersons standing up for Israel and the Jewish people, and making their voices heard.
Israeli Citizen Spokespersons' Office is unofficial, no red tape type of reporting by a well familiar team that is led by former Israeli government spokesman, Eylon Levy.
A voluntary team of well-informed ordinary citizens (mostly immigrants) who speak in their native languages and advocate for Israel and the Jewish People.
A type of non gov hasbarah.

In other words, it's a bunch of folks that can say whatever they want without any editor or overseeing news source taking responsibility. This type of source should best be ignored. If what they say never makes it into a respected news source then it was either BS or not important. Therefore ignoring this kind of stuff is the best approach.

    Not necessary so.
Ignoring is not the case with this group of people.

Ignoring is the best course. If they are lying or misleading then you're not going believe false things or be mislead. If they are telling an important truth then consuming that news from a reliable source means you couldn't have been mislead or believe false things.

I understand your point, it's just that public not exactly trusting official or gov sources of news.

"A major problem that has confronted Israeli journalists for 75 years is finding a happy medium between patriotism and professionalism.
If Israel did not face an existential threat on many fronts, Israeli journalists could afford to be less wary and unwilling to take risks.
But when national security is at stake, they have to censor themselves and repeat material contained in government press releases.
You don't have to be an official spokesperson to speak up for Israel.
The Jewish People and Israel are under attack all around the world.
To counter this situation, a credible team of citizen spokespeople share the facts, truth, and messages in order to fight against the lies that are being disseminated.
Daily updates are provided Sunday through Thursday on all social media platforms."

It's very easy to lose credibility if reporting doesn't check as reliable. I personally find it, complementary and credible.

    Readers can do their judgement.

There's an enormous leap from "not taking mainstream media reporting at face value..." to "...therefore I'll uncritically post some guy who rants on YouTube as Patriot1776TruthUSA but pretend I'm just asking questions".

I think there is a different angle here.
The guy is current spokesman of IDF, and the group is led by former spokesman of the Israeli government - a critic of Netanyahu, he was let go by Bibi in March 2024 from the position of official spokesman of the Israeli gov.
Now, among other things, he leads a team of war time volunteers who are spokespeople of the IDF and other credible people known to the public.
The Israel journalists, when national security is at stake, have to censor themselves and repeat material contained in government press releases in which there are sins of either omission or commission.
Now they can report more without those constrains.

Minister Smotricht is now openly threatening the West Bank with the same treatment Gaza is suffering.

I guess I missed the news where the West Bank PLO attacked Israel and murdered 1200 Israelis and took a couple hundred prisoners back to the West Bank?

Here are the rest of Sitrich words.
    I think it's important.

"We will turn you into ruined cities like in the Gaza Strip if the terror you are exerting on the settlements continues,” Smotrich said in Hebrew.
    ____
There is increased drones activity and shootings, terror attaacks from West Bank.
Sellers are hearing work, fear tunnels and atta k type of 7th Oct will come from West Bank.

Smotricht is a follower of the late Meir Kahane. Use terrorist attacks as the excuse for wholesale slaughter and expulsion of Arabs. Look, these people make no secret of their goals. To the contrary, it's all there in their campaign speeches.

    quote:
Bezalel Yoel Smotrich (Hebrew: בְּצַלְאֵל יוֹאֵל סְמוֹטְרִיץ׳, born 27 February 1980) is an Israeli far-right politician and lawyer who has served as the Minister of Finance since 2022. The leader of the National Religious Party–Religious Zionism,[1] he previously served as a Knesset member for Yamina.[2]

Smotrich is a settler in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, living in the settlement of Kedumim, which is illegal under international law. His residence was also built illegally outside the settlement proper.[3]

Smotrich's extremist politics and often racist and homophobic statements have led to several controversies.[4] He is a supporter of expanding Israeli settlements in the West Bank, opposes Palestinian statehood, and denies the existence of the Palestinian people.[4]

The recent news seems to indicate that this fellow is torpedoing the Gaza peace plan. He will withdraw his support of the current government and Netanyahu will lose power. So Netanyahu will bow to whatever he says. Although I just gather this from my Google search, I didn't actually read any of the many articles. The Wikipedia article indicates to me that he's a right-wing wacko in the government that is bad news like Netanyahu, if not worse. They seem determined to alienate the whole world against Israel.
