what's the deference, or the difference, or, oh, never mind

No, you don't have a "deferent take on some of the issues." Who cares if you did? The problem is that you don't have ANY "take" on ANY of the "issues."

You spout at random, choosing your views at random, the better to evade your own words at a later date. See, it's not that I don't like you (what's to like or dislike about a fictional creation and its Doppelgaenger?). I have no use for your inability ever to stick by anything you say, ever to answer a question in plain English or whatever tongue suits whichever of you at the moment, ever to follow through on a line of reasoning, or ever to take your argumentative lumps without whining that people don't "like" you.

    What's to "like"?

    Or whom?

Oh, yeah. It's "la revedere", not "la revedery".

I get from this forum what I come for.
That’s what counts the most, to me.

Not comments of some one who most of the time comes with one or two liners of some gibrish.

Keep the gibberish flowing please - you are a very very easy target!

    Yeah... what he said.

Ohgod, janko... don't start correcting him. You'll never have time for anything else! :)

Ha! You -- either of you -- can't be talkin' about me... although you must be since I'm the one who first proffered the theory of multiple Lerners. Believe me when I tell you, however, that nothing could be further from the truth. If I liked you, I'd have the courage to admit it. In fact, not long ago, when I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and still searching for that Lerner silver lining, I even said I liked you... or was starting to, or could or something like that. I also used the "just when I was starting to like you" line in a more recent post. You're projecting onto me your own fears and convoluted thinking, there Lerner... which is kind of a neat trick, considering there's two of you. Stereoscopic projection, I guess.

Since I'm the only one around here who has used the term "one-liner" in any thread where Lerner's the target, I'm obviously the one he's talking about.

And I'll have both you Lerners know that I've never gibberished in my life... not even when coming out of surgery; not even when so drunk I could barely stand; not even when in that weird half-asleep/half-awake, twilight place that one's in when one is first awakened from the deepest part of the 90-minute sleep cycle. I don't gibberish. I may pontificate, but I don't gibberish.

    So watch it! :)

Actually I wasn't talking about you Gregg.

Your remarks were uncalled, I didn't started this tread and didn't post anything about this since I told the persons in the forum I will not do that anymore until AJ did.
I copied from the same sourse he did.

It's not my fault that he liked the first post and not the second by the same person.

Actually I think AJ was set up.

Go back and read how unjust your specusations about me and the lies and wild teories.

This is EVIL for so called christians.

I'm sure you are very proud of your self.

See... now you're just backpeddling and pathetic. Get a spine, man! Get a spine!

for. (Oh, crap! Now I'm correcting him... er... them.)

Uh, huh. And who's "AJ" again?

    Who's "AJ"?

There is no amount of re-reading of my words that will cause me to conclude that my specusations about you were unjust; or that my teories about you were wild. In fact, that wouldn't happen with respect to my speculations or theories, either. So don't hold your breath for that! Er... on second thought, please do.

This is not suffering fools... which certain of us Christians do better than most.

I most definitely show no deference to you anywhere. And what does perfume have to do with anything?

You mean, generally? Sure. Why not. I've always been proud of my self. My self is all I've got. Er... or did you mean "yourself"? The word "yourself" and the two words "your self" have different meanings. But, of course, I guess it's too much to ask of you that you bother to respect and learn the language of the country in which you've chosen to reside.

Well, then... why don't you just prove that I am. I mean, talk about a triumph for you! Do it! Please. We'd all love to know the truth.

Do you mean "always right"? If so, only about the two of you.

    Of two... at least.

I'm one of those Americans who naturally sides wih the underdog. And since some internet bullies have been pounding on Lerner recently, I find myself sympathizing with him.

Lerner and Rector are so similar that I think that they are probably one and the same.

I can understand it. If Lerner comes from Russia, then he might want to talk up a program that seems to be from the old country. Of course IUFS doesn't really seem to be Russian at all. Most of its organizers appear to come from elsewhere, whether Sri Lanka or the good old USA.

(I notice that the most recent object of the Slavophile weirdness is WIDU and its Grand Master.)

One problem I have with Lerner is that his arguments are often incomprehensible to me. Part of that is his English. But a worse problem is that he and I seem to employ different conceptual vocabularies. He thinks that phrases like "state degree" are meaningful and informative. I don't have a clue what a 'state degree' is.

So reading Lerner's passionately confusing posts is almost as much of a hermeneutical hurdle for me as contemplating Unk's most koan-like productions.

All I know about "VAE" is that it's some typically attitude-filled French thing that degree mills use to try to confuse Anglophones.

I'm aware that it means validation of prior learning, but the US has been validating prior learning for decades. It's good to see the French belatedly recognizing the concept, but I don't know why I should become particularly excited.

    You too.

What I ment by State degree.

In Russia there is uniform format of university diplomas only state accredited educational institutions have the right to award them. Credentials of this format should be considered for recognition abroad as officially recognized credentials.

They cary the seal of Russian Federation.

Candidate of Sciences Diploma (Diplom Kandidata Nauk), awarded by: a) the Dissertation Council; b) the Supreme Certifying Committee.
Has very special format as well.

Unaccredited universities in Russia award their own format degrees. They are not allowed by law to use the seal of Russian Federation.

In France its the National State Standard degrees.

In USA each university has its own format.

I think that when Americans are judging foreign degrees, they aren't really interested in what diplomas look like. Rather, they want to know whether or not the institution and processes that generated the diploma are academically sound.

Apparently the Russian Ministry of Education created an accrediting body a few years ago -- the National Accreditation Center of Russian Federation. Being new, it might still be a work in progress:

    http://www.inqaahe.org/members_details.cfm?mID=102&typ=1

After all, until the fall of communism in 1991, Russia didn't even have any private higher education instiutions. All private higher education in that country has suddenly emerged from out of nowhere, making it questionable by its very nature.

Unfortunately the NICA website is in Russian and totally impenetrable to me. I don't know what schools they've accredited, though I'm willing to bet that IUFS (and WIDU) aren't on their list.

    http://www.nica.ru/

I understand that private French ecoles that have been in operation for five years or more can elect to have their degrees approved by the education ministry in Paris after an assessment, giving them what Americans understand by 'accreditation'.

But until the French decide to post a comprehensible English language list of these approved schools, I don't think that it's wise for Americans to accept all French degees as automatically RA-equivalent, just because they are French. That, after all, is what schools like Sorbon insist that we do.

Bottom line, in both the Russian and the French cases, there does seem to be some kind of national higher education quality assurance system. But in both cases very little English-language information is provided.

Instead there are some pretty obvious degree-mills exploiting all the confusion, countless half-hysterical discussion board posts in broken English, and loud demands that Americans just shut up and accept some very doubtful foreign degree claims on the basis of smoke, mirrors and loud noises.

Prove it. When someone spreads a lie about me, at least I can refute it with irrefutable evidence. I can prove it. If I'm spreading likes about you -- however many of you there are -- then prove it! I say again: We would all love to know the truth.

You can't tell the difference (or, as you like to write, "deference") between the letter "U" and the letter "A"? I mean... c'mon! Even you can grasp that.

No, actually... I think that you -- both of you -- and I, the three of us, all know what really happened here. Many people are too willing to ascribe to "coincidence" things for which there is often a far more logical -- and perhaps sinister (and for its being sinster, they are often loathe to admit to said logical) -- explanation. Some of us believe that there really are no coincidences in life... or, if there are, then they're darned few in actual number.

I think -- and I know that you know I'm right because as you're reading this, I know your a__hole is slamming shut in an "Oh, crap! He figured me out!" moment -- that smarmy little "AJ" is a reference to "Aunt Janko," the derision of uncle janko that has been so often tossed-about in other fora and on AED; and a username around here that got shut down because of said user's abuse. In fact... didn't it get shut down right around the time you signed-up here?

I think your referring to janko as "AJ" was you're little wink and a nod to your AED and other fora buddies whom you know are reading this; your arrogant belief that you're too smart for this room; and your currying of favor with the other disreputables and mill-supporters in the nefarious clan of which you are an integral part... though, of course, you deny it and express moral outrage at the very notion.

I think you're precisely the troll and troublemaker that I, for one, have always known you to be... hence the reason I've been so merciless on you that even the likes of BillDayson occasionally lose their way and feel a little temporary pity. I think you despise this place and all it stands for. I think you're just a spy -- a trojan horse -- who reigns-in his/her hatred just enough to keep from being thrown outta' here so that he can say, "Hey, guys, look... I'm here among the enemy and they don't even know it... look at me as I dance around right under their noses"; and then you go into AED and The Crabby Forum or any of a number of other places that will tolerate your abuse, and you write, under a variety of names, and with your English suddenly and mysteriously perfect, despicable, godawful things about members here that would embarrass you until you'd be ready to faint if your mother knew you had authored such terrible words.

I think you're a low-life piece of diploma-mill-supporting garbage who's too goddammed stupid to realize his own tells... which is exactly why Carl characterizes you as such an easy target. If this were poker, you'd have been broke and outta' here long ago. You're not smart. Like most of your ilk, you just think you are... and you're so bereft of basic ethical and moral training in life that you aren't equipped with the skills to recognize it.

    So how's that slammed-shut a__hole doin' now?

"Ancle Janko." Ha! Nice try at wiggling out of what you and I both know you really meant.

"It's a lie!" The clarion call of the dishonest and dishonorable; repeated more and more vociferously as the accusers get closer and closer to being right. Go ahead... keep repeating it.

Is that a threat, you bolshevik piece-o-crap? Why don't you send some of your Russian mob buddies to Napa to break my legs? Or would you like me to come to you to provide easier access?

You underestimate me, Sparky. I've had your kind pissed-off at me before. When I helped the cops shut down all those Russian-mob-owned massage parlors, don't you think it pissed 'em off? Don't you think they wanted me dead for depriving them of their thousands and thousands of dollars per week in pimp money? Don't assume just because I post halfway intelligently around here, and talk without hesitation about morals and ethics and my own Christianity, that I can't handle myself on the real world's streets when I need to... or that I haven't. Let's not forget that I'm from a city where even Russian mobster types look like pussies; that I went to high school with, guys who'll kill you for sneezing wrong; and who will, for an extra twenty bucks, cut-up your body and mail pieces of it to your mother.

So bring it on, tough guy! Send it! Or tell me where to be and when so it can find me more easily and I can kick its ass with you watching.

Or, realizing that you can't actually put your money where your mouth is -- not with me, anyway -- just shut the hell up!

Boomerang. Lesson in humility. Ha! Bring. It. On.

He's a Bolshevik? He's Mafiya? Why would either bother with this forum?

It's more likely that he's lost family to the Bolsheviks than that he is one.

Sure. This isn't a court of law. Where's the problem?

Obviously among those like you in it, it wouldn't.

Probably. It was a name calling more than anything else. If I'd thought of "Mr. Moskow" first, I would have used that instead. Keep on picking nits, though... it becomes you.

And you're apparently too white bread. Try growing up in a place like Detroit, Gary or certain parts of New Orleans and then talk to me about fantasy. This is the first time I've ever had to defend how truly bad where I grew up is. Interesting switch.

Even only a cursory reading of my words reveals that they're threats of effective self-defense, not of attack. Try to keep up, Mr. I-don't-really-like-DesElms-so-I'm-gonna'-call-him-on-anything-I-can-and-lot-of-stuff-that-I-can't.
