    "Dr. Barnes". That sounds good.

And "PhD, Church History, University of Pretoria" will look great on any resume. It's an excellent university.

Congratulations! Old timers around here will recall reading your progress reports over the last few years. I'm really happy to see it work out so well for you. You've accomplished a very cool and impressive thing.

Title: F.F. Bosworth: A Historical Analysis of the Influential Factors in His Life and Ministry.

I examined his life history using Social Cognitive Career Theory.

It lasted exactly 45 minutes. It was stressful. The biggest challenge for me was understanding the accents/dialects. I'm hard of hearing, and had to ask them to repeat questions. Couple of times I misunderstand the questions. Most of the examiners asked me to explain points in my research. Only one seemed to really go after me. Most of the questions focused on my theory. When it was over, my supervisor said he would notify me of the results by email within an hour. 20 minutes later, I got his email.

The defense was 7 a.m. (my time). I had been up all night with no sleep. I was actually too nervous to sleep. After I passed, I was too excited to sleep. I stayed up about 30 hours before I could go to sleep.

    Great little anecdote!

Absolutely, positively mazel tov and many congratulations on achieving the PhD. Will you seek to apply for a faculty position somewhere?

  13. He is...

The Most Interesting Man in the World

I should make a page like that for myself:

Maniac Craniac, a renouned high school graduate who cures his accademic boredom through hackey-sack and web surfing.

He is the praise-winning author of hundreds of personal emails, ranging in such varied topics as linguistics, current events and Yo Momma jokes.

He bakes his own bread, fries his own chicken and ties his own shoes.

He drinks his tea black, puts his pants on both legs at a time, and is a legal expert, knowing everything about Unites States law except what it actually says.

Aw, darn, I was gone from the boards for a few days and I lost the chance to haze someone about their next degree program!

Roscoe, I'm a bit insomniac myself. That's why I'm up writing this at 2 in the morning.

    Hi Ted,

Glad to hear this. Hope you enjoy it. I should note that I was not pleased with the editing. I caught a number of typos that nearly sent me over the edge. I'm in communication with the editor to see how we can clean it up before other copies are printed. I should have caught these during the reading of the galleys, but I rushed it at the last minute, and now I'm suffering the consequences.

    Thanks again for your interest.
