I am scared to wear my Trump hat on the street anymore...I have had so many problems with white anti Trump supporters. I saw that video where those white people punched a black Trump supporter. I am truly scared to even voice my opinion on politics anymore. All you see is the left attacking people. Is this what they wanted? TO silence any and every one that does not think like them? At Berkley those white kids surrounded a group of young black males and attacked them because the black people supported Trump.

The other day a democrat anti-Trump guy was harassing a Muslim girl and then stabbed two young men who tried to help her. Now a democratic gunmen are attacking people at charity baseball practice.

    The Left are scary.

    Lots of love, tolerance, inclusion, and diversity of opinion with this guy;

I lay a lot of the blame for this at the feet of the media and the Democrats; for months, Democrat politicians have gone on television and ranted and railed that there will be an apocalypse of Biblical proportions if Obamacare is overturned, and/or the junk science of global warming isn't fully embraced by everyone.

How many time have we heard from Democrats, "Thousands will die!!!!" if _________ Republican policy is enacted? I would bet dollars to cents that this lunatic was at least partially whipped into a frenzy by the irresponsible rhetoric of the left.

Trump's a nazi! Trump's a fascist! Trump's a racist! He's a misogynist! He's an homophobe! He's a traitor! He's a Russian agent! He's destroying not only the United States, but Western civilization and the planet itself!

Totally over the top, but if the media and the celebrities keep stirring it up, some of the dimmer and more impulsive people out there are going to believe it and they will behave in ways that are appropriate to what they are told is the gravity of the situation.

Kathy Griffin poses with what's supposed to be Trump's severed head. A New York play depicts Shakespeare's Julius Caesar as the assassination of Donald Trump and it gets standing ovations.

The unthinkable is now thinkable. Not only thinkable, but more or less endorsed and defended by many of the cultural elites.

Unless it is dialed back quickly, there's going to be blood in the streets.

It's a horrible act reminiscent of other assassination attempts, most recently Gabrielle Giffords.

Quick: out of the two 2016 Presidential candidates, who joked about "Second Amendment people" doing something about another candidate? Wasn't it the one who supposedly was opposed to "many of the cultural elites"?

So far, you guys win hypocrisy championship with stunning ease.

Yeah, because in reality public policy has no effect on life expectancy whatsoever. And because Republican politicians never use fear to get votes.

You know, when you resort to dishonest debating, maybe it's because your side is wrong.

I'd like to say you need help, but I won't.

A democrat gunned people down in cold blood because they were republicans.

No amount of political bs can change that.

Another democrat stabbed two men to death and wounded another as those men tried to stop him from harassing a muslim women.

A democrat college professor attacked a man with a bike lock, a democrat tried to pull a bag over a persons head, a democrat set a ladies hair on fire....I don't think you are being very clear of thought.

I remember CNN and the NYT were going all in on the Sara Palin crosshairs graphic as reason for that shooting. Then it shifted to immigration for a bit. Unfortunately Gifford's shooter survived and we learned just how bat-shit crazy he was and had no clear political agenda. He was obsessed with Giffords and upset she didn't answer a nonsensical question he asked her at a 2007 political rally.

That shooting was worse because 6 or 9 people died? Plus a little girl was shot.

You read "Second Amendment remedies" into THAT? Hmm, well done, I guess.

And was very laudably gunned down by police at the spot. I say justice served.
These kinds of events are rather rare. But the one it's most reminiscent of is a neo-Nazi shooting up a Socialist Party camp near Oslo in 2011. Body count reached 92. One can't pin these kinds of things to a particular ideology. I could say comparing the two that Right Wing terrorists are usually much better shots than this "Democrat".

This is just desperate. Oh b, Jeremy Joseph Christian is a white supremacist with irrational hatred of Hillary Clinton, so pretty much more opposite of "Democrat" then a "Republican" would be. were other incidents you mention all politically motivated? Want to start publicising political affiliations of felons? Most will be "independent".

Here's a couple of questions for Stanislav:

    1. Do you personally support the use of violence against political opponents who are merely exercising their rights to freely assemble in a democracy? Yes or no?

My answer to that question is 'no', I don't support political violence against opponents in a democracy, even if I viscerally disapprove of those opponents' views.

    2. Why are you, a Ukrainian resident in Canada who is not and has never been a US citizen, so obsessed by and morally judgmental about United States domestic politics? Why does it engage you so emotionally? Why is it so important to you?

The guy was a Democrat? I guess someone has checked and found that to be true. He targeted Republicans? That is obviously true. The guy was pretty crazy? I'd say yes but I don't know if he has a psychiatric history or not. Sometimes it takes a while to figure that out because Psychiatrists don't just step forward and say "He was my client." It's a HIPPA thing. My guess is that they'll find out he was kinda crazy. But even if he was a Democrat, I don't think his behavior represents Democrats any more than Jared Lee Loughner (the guy who shot Gabby Giffords) represents Independent voters. I think it's more representative of people who feel disenfranchised and only see extreme measures as solutions. They fall off the edge and decide to blame someone for all their problems and the eventual victim is really just a symbol to them. It's true that there has been a shift to the Left with this extreme sort of behavior. I think the guy who stabbed those people in Portland was a Democrat too. There are indeed people on the edges of all these social groups who take these extreme measures. I'd guess that some expert would tell you that there's not a huge difference between Hodgkinson and a suicide bomber. So yeah, he was a Democrat. A crazy Democrat. And yeah, the rhetoric probably contributed to his actions. People shouldn't be inciting violence. Both sides have done it. We remember at one of Trumps campaign rallies where Trump said something about "I'd want to punch that guy right in the face." and there are Democrats who have said bad things too. But when you grab onto that kind of reductionistic thinking where you say "Hodgkinson was a Democrat and he shot people and so all Democrats are evil . . ." then you're just perpetuating the problem, not making it better. We should try to be better than that.

I don't see our resident Republicans as doing that. It seems more like they're (rightfully) pointing out that the mainstream media commentary that follows these sorts of incidents differs in collective blame depending on whether the perpetrator is a Democrat or not.
