I just saw this today. Haven't been back her for a couple years but got bored and was curious. I met Abner through this forum, helped him as a student at aspen university. I flew out and met both him and Kim in 2009 in CA, we had dinner, it was nice. I was supposed to fly up and meet Bear but my wife got sick and I had to fly home. Ass Bear has dogged me ever since, F you john. Abner and I worked a couple causes together and met probably 3-4 times a year up until maybe 3-4 years ago. He had put on a lot of weight and was very depressed last time I saw him. When we first met he was very fit and confident. His main job was as a HR mediation manager for union workers. His MBA thesis was on the benefits of bringing a business education to the union side of the negotiating table. We corresponded regularly via email until a couple years ago. Both he and his wife were good people.

Wow, Dave . . . After a 2-1/2 year absence, it's nice that you showed up to write a delightful tribute to Abner. I'm rather surprised you showed up at all, since your last appearances here were like picking the last vestiges of meat off a turkey bone - you, of course, being the turkey. Moreover, throwing in the part about your grudge against John only confirms that you are the sleazy, smacked ass I have been describing you as for the past several years.

I'm surprised that you have the balls to show up here after your William Loveland College degree mill scam, and would have to say that if you had planned this to be your triumphant return to the D/L forum world, you blew it as expected. I'm delighted to have both of the apologias you produced in your unsuccessful tirade against DEAC on my computer - I had saved them before you deleted them from YouTube. I'd watch them now for entertainment's sake, but found them boring as hell the first time around.

So welcome back, Dave - I was one of the first to call you a rip-off here, am delighted to have you return, and look forward to exposing any future efforts to scam the public. But this time around, I'm confident that the bulk of our long-term members will already be aware that you are a con artist.

A thought to bring this back on topic - with a friend like David Lady, perhaps Abner did knock himself off.

Dave, welcome back. I am happy that you are here. I think Steve L also missed you. He has his own unique way of showing his appreciation.

Wouldn't it be nice if a memorial thread about one of our most well regarded participants could actually be allowed to be about the one being remembered.

Holly cow I just remembers in 2012 Abner came out to help me on a project in Las Vegas, we went to an SHRM trade-show. He was probably at the height of feeling good then and he knew everyone, literally we couldn't walk 30 feet without someone seeing him who knew him and we would talk to them for a few minutes. He, I and a few other people went to dinner at a seafood restaurant at I think City Center or something like that, it was a pretty nice place. I can't remember if he drank or not, my memory is that he didn't. But we talked about a lot of stuff and he and Kim had been mulling the idea of selling their house and moving, but at the time the housing markets were just starting to come back and they weren't sure if it was the right time. Anyway this is new for me I just found out an hour ago by reading this thread so I am remembering him.

I also just remembered around the same time he was working with a Beverley Hills investors group and they were building a APP working with , crap, blue something it was Brett Ratners production company (before any problems). Abner really was very well connected in the LA area. I hope it wasn't a suicide but I wouldn't completely surprised I think Kim's health problems were very expensive.

Anyway, I'm gone no worries but Abner was a friend and its nice to remember him.

    Out.

    "Holly cow I just remembers in 2012 . . . ???"

Holy cow, Dave, I try to avoid critiquing atrocious grammar, spelling, and punctuation (which occur throughout the post that I heavily truncated), but aren't you the guy that purports to hold a doctorate and was the "provost" of William Loveland College (which we ultimately showed was a degree mill and a scam)?

FWIW, I would have let you slide if it were not for the zinger you threw out at John Bear in your original post at the top of this page. But ultimately, I'm glad you showed us your true side once again. On one hand, I wish you'd stick around here; on the other hand, you're just way too ripe for abuse, so it's probably best that you're heading off into the sunset again. 'Twas nice to see you, though.

In other news, Abner and Kim are still dead.

Dr. Lady: "Ass Bear has dogged me ever since, F you john."
John Bear: It saddens me deeply when anyone, much less an apparently well-educated professional, resorts to language like this, especially when directed at me. Is this message permitted under the forum's Terms of Service?

I was very sad to hear of Abner’s passing, we communicated somewhat regularly via PM’s, and his last message to me was that Kim was starting a new round of treatment. He seemed very optimistic, which makes this news even tougher.

Abner was a true gentleman, I’m going to miss his contributions.

No, it's not and he has been warned.

I saw that. I assumed it was some sort of inside joke, but I guess not. Dr Lady, I hope those are not your last words on DI because then that will be sad. There were many us who were rooting for you to bring accredited education at an affordable cost.

I hate to bring this up, but there are far worse instances on this board that have gone without being dealt with, usually by the same person.

But I agree that Dr Lady's post was out of line.
