Although I do think that many of these people that crashed the server were democrats that are disappointed, I believe that the vast majority were most likely people that fear deportation after Trump's victory. I respect the right of a Country to enforce immigration laws but a massive deportation would generate a humanitarian crisis, I can see millions of people asking for refugee status in Canada and immigration applications for those ones that might qualify as self employment, professional, trades or business owners. A Mexican national that has a trade and is good with his hands, can easily get immigration in some provinces that are starving for hard working people, this can be an opportunity for Canada to get a work force that can help some industries in particular farms but I don't think there is room for 11 million so the rest would need to absorbed by other countries. In any case, I do see a humanitarian crisis coming soon due to this massive deportations that will be part of the first activities that Trump will do to please his supporters that want to make "America great again" or should I say "America white again".

You shouldn't, but then piety is what it is.

History repeats itself, history is full of similar "cleaning" examples. We don't seem to learn from our mistakes. In any case, as we don't need to be political correct anymore, we can just call things by their name.

Another nonsense movement to make "Quebec great again". The political movement died with the lost of power of the PQ party. Bottom line is that the economy suffered because this non sense. The movement was similar to the Trump movement, French whites felt that they were losing power against ethnic powerful economic groups so they wanted to separate so they could control who comes in and maintain "French white" supremacy. The problem is that ethnics as Jacques Parizeau used to call anyone from non French origin, are the main contributors to the economy so the movement lost support as people realized that you need hard working people to maintain an economy and nationalist movement based on race and language just scare people that leave to other places because of fear of abuse.

Extreme Nationalist movements are cancers to society, people should know better by now.

I doubt it. It's not like Canada has open borders. People who are in the U.S. illegally aren't going to be any less illegal if they sneak into Canada.

Even if were desirable, the idea to deport twelve million people is hopelessly impractical, even with a police state that would make the Nazis blush.

For most people, it's about jobs and wages, not color. But that doesn't make for exciting stories on CNN.

Sneaking into Canada from the US is not exactly difficult with thousands of kilometers of no supervised border. However, most illegal residents in the US would prefer to benefit from Canada's refugee system that gives them money and education while they wait for an immigration hearing. The worst case scenario is that if they are turned down, they just stay illegally but at least they had enough time to polish language skills and get some work that can help them with references and some credit history. Also, It is not so easy to survive as an illegal alien in Canada due to extreme weather conditions, you cannot just sleep in the street and go to look for work at a Walmart's parking lot like in the US.

I also don't believe that Trump can manage to deport the 11 million in one year but he will be deporting the few million just to deliver to his followers some of what he promised. A Wall in Canada would cost several times more than the one in Mexico but followers can always argue that some of these Syrian refugees that we have can sneak to the US through the Canadian border so they can kill innocent Americans so I will not be surprised of he uses a Canadian wall for his 2020 reelection campaign that we should pay by taxing Canadian Weed that goes to the US.

A Canadian wall would be insane. The two countries should be a free movement/customs area, the only thing at the border should be a
    "Welcome to the USA" sign.

I remember an old (Canadian) joke about two-sided border signs:

"Welcome to the USA - land of Bob Hope, Johnny Cash and Stevie Wonder."

"Welcome to Canada - no Cash, no Hope, no Wonder"

    Would be great.
Please bring in more American tourists. Canada is a country with it's own set of issues. However, it would be instructional for some to learn that there's a country just up north that has health care, weed, gun control, and Syrian refugees policies to the left of anything Obama or Hillary ever proposed, and the sky did not fall. Imagine that.

Having said that, if any American wants to move to Canada, I'm willing to trade places (if only it worked like that!). Especially if they are from the swing state that can't afford to lose a (D) vote.

I do wish Canadians would stop talking like there's no such thing as healthcare in the U.S. just because it's not a federal single-payer system.

It's PROVINCIAL single-payer system (but federally-mandated), and it simplifies life to the great degree. Especially for self-employed, small companies, and job changers. You should try it.

Yes, yes, I'm familiar with Canadian smugness regarding their health care system. That doesn't mean it's not seriously incorrect to say the U.S. doesn't have a system.

In this case, I fell victim to ambiguous grammar. What I meant is Canadian health care policies (and policies in a few other areas) is to the left of Democratic proposals in US. Moreover, contrary to what some in US say, this fact did not yet led to "tyranny".

I seriously dislike Canadian smugness; it's especially unfortunate when our southern neighbor gives us a legit reason to be smug. As in, eg., electing a former WWE heel (in character) as President.
