Zimmerman trial - Prosecution finished

These were all proper rulings by the court that have to do probative value versus prejudicial value. It is an extremely important legal concept to be able to understand these rulings.

Zimmerman should have never gotten out of his car that day. He was overzealous in both his goals and behavior and end result. He has made a royal mess of his life. (Of course his life is in better shape than Martin's life.) He will probably be found not guilty or I guess it's also possible that there could be a hung jury but I doubt if the prosecution would retry the case.

 

Are you watching the trial? Is it proper for a Judge to be acting like that? Laughing when she overrules something and rushing things along like that? What's her big hurry? I'm no lawyer and not to familiar with courtroom rules of decorum, but she's laughs when she overrules. Weird.

 

I cannot believe the judge allowed Donnelly's testimony to stay in. She actually ruled in favor of the defense on that one.

State's looking for Man2 + Agg assault with deadly weapon? No chance in a logical world where evidence and testimony would rule. But in our current world? Where the most prized skill by most Americans is the ability to NOT NOTICE THINGS? I'm thinking GZ will go away for something. Anything.

I believe Zimmerman is guilty as sin.

 

I believe he is guilty of shooting Martin also, no one is arguing that.

 

It's justifiable homicide.

 

If it was Zimmerman who was unarmed, wearing a sweatshirt and walking in the rain, and Martin who was in a car and carrying a firearm, approached Zimmerman, and shot him, I doubt seriously Martin would have been released by the police a few hours later.

In this situation, you have to look at precipitating events. Zimmerman initiated the encounter, introduced the weapon, and killed a minor. And that was after he was asked not to get involved. If he avoids any one of those things--the encounter he initiated, the gun he used, the shot he fired, or the advice he ignored--this conflict never happens. That's a lot to overcome to reach "justifiable homicide." But he just might do it. We'll see.

 

I love this prosecutor. He's been arguing for Man 3 now on the basis of....get this...child abuse. No wonder he cannot look the judge in the eye when talking. Sheesh.

Rich. Again, obviously you are not watching the trial. As evidence and testimony has shown (and multiple times at that) that GZ did not initiate the encounter. He was reporting on suspicious behavior, when the dispatcher said "we don't need you to do that" (follow) TM he replied "OK" and headed back to his truck. You are aware that the media for the longest time was playing an edited 911 tape right? And that you are basing assumptions on that edited tape? GZ pulled away and was headed back to his truck to meet the cops he just called when TM initiated contact, again born out by testimony and evidence.

 

It is sad to see that the liberal brainwashing of our education system has spread even to this forum. Zimmerman was walking back to his vehicle and was violently attacked by Martin. Martin wasn't "visiting" his father, he was kicked out of his mother’s home for fighting and other nefarious activities. He even liked to brag about "beating people down." If it weren't for the rabid liberal thugs in charge of the legal system down there this would never have gone to trial. Zimmerman should sue for having his Civil Rights violated.

And unfortunately a RINO Governor is complicit in all this as well! Zimmerman should have been given a parade and the keys to the city. The message that's been sent is don't get involved...cower in your house while your neighborhood crumbles or face the wrath of the government.

I think I'll go send a few bucks to the Zimmerman defense fund.

It is a sad day when the Federal government puts its weight behind these type of activities.

 

He's gonna need it. The jury will convict on something-anything. He'll have to go to appeal. There are a couple of things that this Judge has done that clearly will be shot down in appeal. She is even quoted as saying that she "doesn't care" if she makes a mistake that the ddefense can just appeal.

Did the prosecution just argue that someone is supposed to take just a “fist beating” before being entitled to self defense? I'm keeping that one in my list of quotes next time some lady defends herself from spouse abuse or rape, or even in cases of child abuse. Ladies you have to take a few punches to the nose and perhaps a magical tree branch to the back of the head before you can defend yourself.

Good grief, now prosecution is lying in their closing. Hopefully defense will remind the jury that we actually have transcripts of 911 calls and police interviews so that they can see prosecution is changing words. I give them credit though, they are following the narrative down to the bitter end.
