Why the snobbery?

OK guys, I am getting really tired of having to step into these threads and clean them up.

First, images or jokes that make fun of people because of things they cannot help are unacceptable and certainly not in keeping with the spirit of our terms of service.

Secondly, tensions always run high on issues like this. Just the thread title itself was almost asking for problems but I decided to let it stay in the hopes that people could try and be respectful to one another, and for the most part, a lot of people managed to maintain that.

Third, it is not appropriate to post private communications between DegreeInfo members, mods, staff, etc on DegreeInfo. The only exceptions I can think of are cases of diploma mill shills and the like threatening DegreeInfo.

Fourth, we are (as far as I know) all adults here, and in theory, most or all of us are involved or experienced with higher education. As such, we ought to have the ability to treat one another with respect, to listen and respond to different viewpoints without attacking. It annoys the heck out of me to have to waste time cleaning up threads and removing arguments. And I really, REALLY don't like suspending people, so I would appreciate it if the people who have attacked others or otherwise behaved inappropriately would think about this and learn from it, so I don't have to keep wasting my time with threads like this.
