    You're slipping - you weren't going to mention this - remember? :))

No, I do not remember. I hardly think I would enter into a conspiracy of silence with you, of all people. By the way, from which Ray Chasse-led school was that doctorate from? ACU, or perhaps Summit? Both? Sheila told me you were admitted to MIGS "ABD." Was/were this/these degree(s) the basis for it? Or perhaps you've done doctoral-level study at a recognized institution of higher education that you've never mentioned? Or is this matter better left alone entirely? You decide. Until then, you might also want to consider ceasing these petty jibes. It would be my pleasure not having to respond.

(Of course, I don't really know you, and I certainly don't want to attack you personally, so my response is in the form of questions.)

    Rich:

This is good news! I regret the MIGS scenario didn't develop as was planned, because I don't think you would have enrolled if it hadn't looked promising.

Where are you enrolled in the doctoral program? Or, if you rather not share it at this point, I certainly wish you the best in completing the dissertation. Will the dissertation be on the same subject matter, i.e., acceptance of DL degrees?

I'm going to refrain from discussing the details of my studies until I'm much nearer completion. I would rather not have that become a focal point, as did the debacle called MIGS. The subject matter of my dissertation will be similar, if not the same.

You know, in some ways, the new incarnation of MIGS still looks promising. Except, of course, that I know the cast of characters behind it, so I know better. The idea of setting up independent graduate degree programs on behalf of a Mexican university is a cool idea. But it would have to be executed with the direct involvement of the home campus, not to mention the relevant governmental and private agencies. And it would have to avoid involving the behaviors that MIGS consistently displayed (arrogance, stupidity, duplicity, etc.). Now, if a different organization took the place of MIGS at the CEU.... You are so kind, Rich.

My 'less than wonderful degrees', which incidentally I don't use, have possibly just marginally more value than someone else who has a Harvard degree they bought for the hell of it. I didn't even have to pay one cent. I know what work I did and submitted and have no difficultty with that. If you do, that is your problem. I would be a little careful criticising one of the Universities you mentioned above as it has some heavy graduates who went there on the recommendation of Carl Rogers just before he died. I don't intend to state more on that as people are entitled to their privacy, so none need ask.

My ABD is based on a post graduate (post teaching qualification) Bachelor of Education, a 48 unit Master of Education and a 72 unit Master of Accountancy. None of these degrees comprised undergraduate 'conversion' modules, and all were at the upper level. It also includes substantiated post graduate CPA work at the Fellowship level of 180 hours per triennium since 1970, and similar work in Industrila Engineering since 1966. The treatment by CEU is no different to the stsatus I have out here with approved entry into a PhD in Education and another in International Business Law. Our education generally is 1 level ahead of yours which explains why only 250 of the RA universities enjoy equal recognition under NOOSR for degrees in Australia. I suppose that we benefit from not haviong to finish our high school studies at university. That problem that you have suffered from for so long will be apparently adjusted by taking on board this State's curriculum based Y7-12 model - let's hope so anyway.

Now, are we finished? I have more texts to finish off and submit to the printer.

Congratulations. Please do not disclose the name of the school becuase the attack dogs have already sharpened their teeth and are ready to attack another RA DL school.

    Rich AND Peter,

There seems to be a lot of squabbling between the two of you that's clearly personal in nature and not focused on MIGS/CEU.

If you can keep focused on the topic, that's great. But please take the snipes at one another to private email

    Thanks very much.

You can be finished anytime you want. But when you make misleading statements--or omissions--about your education and/or experiences, then snidely talk about me, neither of us is "finished." If you're so busy, why start such things?

    Rich Douglas

I regret this back-and-forth that Mr. French started. I'd follow the moderator's usual and reasonable advice and take it to e-mail, but Mr. French's past claims of qualifications are germane to the comments he initiated. If he has nothing more to say, neither do I. But should he contradict any of this, I will rebut in kind. Personally, I think other readers now understand the entire picture and I feel no need to elaborate further.
