Great deal, A nice 23-acre parcel of dirt, trees etc. for $73K. "Dirt cheap" isn't as cheap as dirt used to be... but then again, it lasts forever - and they ain't makin' any more. :)

The PhD trope is about traditional PhDs not being able to find academic job. Getting a PhD while employed doesn't make you lose your job.

And no, I won't feel differently. I've competed in this human capital market since I was 18, like most of us. I didn't make the rules, but I sure paid attention to them.

I soooooooo agree with this. I believe no one should be hungry. No one should go without an education. No one should go without health care (or fear that health issues will ruin them). I feel no one should be without housing.

I believe in a national health system. I believe in universal and free education (through university). I believe in a universal basic income. I believe in automatic voter registration. And I believe in a minimum wage that allows people to share in the results of their productivity and allows people who work to live in dignity. But.....

This board ain't that. The vast majority of on-topic discussions are about paying for and earning degrees to promote one's career. That implies professional and occupational competition--posters are looking to get "ahead" by earning degrees. The way things are today, it is an extremely competitive (too competitive?) human capital market.

Oh, nice! It's great out there, especially if you don't need or want to come into the city often.
