Moreover, you are only 696 posts away from the 5000 mark. When should I open a Maniac roast thread for you?:banana::banana::banana:

I forgot to show you this one. You must not appreciate fine art when you hear it. And congrats on moving forward with completing your degree. It took me a while to get motivated, but once I did I completed 33 cleps/dantes in one month. It was grueling, but very rewarding as well. So here's to you and some motivation!

Oh my gosh, this is the funniest thing I have listened to in a long time. These guys advance the frontier of bad music.

Congratulations on passing these CLEP exams.

Have you looked at the DSST tests?

Many offer upper division credit. An Ethics course is always good to have in your pocket.

This past month has been one of the worst in recent memory. Death of a loved one. Near death of two others. For one, the hospital balked at providing their own interpreter, so I stayed by his side in the ER for an entire day as we worriedly awaited the (thankfully, positive!) prognosis. Illness and insomnia on my part to boot. So far, I haven't logged in any more credits, which would have put me in a huge crunch except that I'm considering yet another change of plan.

As great of a deal as the BSBA would be, the $2k more that I would spend on it (as opposed to just finishing up my BA and calling it quits) could be spent better elsewhere. It's not that I don't have $2k, it's just that I can't think of a situation anywhere in my near or far future that would justify the cost. Plus, I would have to take off some days of work to make sure I have enough study time. I could put that money into my IRA, start saving for a home, or, most likely, channel it into the upstart of a new career looming in my near future. I would love to possess a degree in business, but it is just not a necessity and am therefore likely to drop the idea entirely.

If I could go back and re-do everything, I would have never even bothered with Social Sciences to begin with and instead just shoot for the BSBA, but that doesn't mean I will have any regrets. The great benefits, many of them I can actually calculate to realistic numbers, of having this one degree will make it all worth it. It will lead to higher pay in my current career, make me eligible for certification in one of my future concurrent careers and will allow me, as a proud autodidact, to slip in an out of traditional academic and professional circles unnoticed if necessary. Additionally, if it ever comes about in my life that I need to get another degree to find or maintain work, I'm already almost there. Just 30 credits to another Bachelor's degree or, what the heck, even a Master's degree. Again, that is only if need be. I'd prefer to never have to worry about college credits ever again. (CEUs on the other hand, will be the bane my remaining professional existence.)

I still haven't decided, but I think that the recent life events have tipped my hand in favor of taking the less stressful, less expensive way out. Besides, I already have no less than four professional certifications that I need to begin working on, as well as at two other supplementary certificates to shoot for and yet another possible performance assessment certificate to achieve. I think I can do with just one Bachelor's degree if that is how it all works out

Still 26 credits to go. If all goes according to plan, I should only have 9 credits to go by the end of this next week. Unless someone else in my life has a heart attack, it should be all over by mid-September.

*cough* *cough* what a dusty, neglected thread here. The OP must have had quite the year that prevented him from getting much done academically. What a poor sap.

On the topic of good news, I completed the FEMA PDS courses today. Easy. Quick. Free. They get the job done. Right now, I have 19 credits left. More FEMA in store and 3 more exams. The next exam, which I will schedule ASAP, is ECE Organizational Behavior. It seems like a cakewalk, but as always, the ECEs are full of surprises, so I'm trying to be ready for anything.

*crosses fingers* This should be my final month working on this greatly belated goal.

    Did I say 2012?! I meant 2013, obviously!

Dude, at this point its like a bandaid that has been on for a little too long. Rip it off!!!!! Rip it!

The sense of relief and accomplishment will make it all worth it, good luck.

This reminds me of the "accountability threads" that students post at the WGU forums to receive and retain motivation. Maybe we need a section like that here.

Today, I shall conquer ECE Organizational Behavior. After passing, I'll be down to 15 credits. The anticipation is killing me worse than the study.

Good luck in your quest. It's so hard to do this while managing everything else going on. But the biggest difference between people who do this and people who don't, ironically, is doing it. Seriously, it isn't that it can't be done by most people, even though they don't do it. It's that they don't.

It's often that we hear someone we know talking about the degree they didn't quite finish. I'm looking forward to the thread that announces that you have.

    Another Day, Another A

Despite this being my lowest score ever on an ECE (81%), I still came off with the grade of A.

This was another very weird ECE in that many questions were ambiguously worded and many of the terms used differed than those in the study material. I'm almost tempted to tell people NOT to study for ECEs, since it will greatly lessen the potential for confusion.

15 credits to go for the final countdown. A number which should be much smaller by this time next week.

Don't you feel inadequate that you are an admin here for a long time and you don't even have a bachelor's degree yet? You have been on that for a long time and I think you are quite old already. You seem to be a lazy and disorganized person who would rather hang out here than study. I personally believe that you are spending too much time here. Like you are addicted to this place. Perhaps you should temporarily retire as admin and just focus on your studies for the time being and just return when you have proven to yourself that you are worthy to supervise a forum dedicated to help people earn legitimate academic degrees.

You are being rather judgmental of a person you have neverpersonally met are you not? It’s OK to have an opinion HOWEVER, the personal insultswe can do without.

You should take your own inventory…
