It would have been cool if MC's 5000th post was an "I'm Done" thread.

Finish strong homey, knock it out of the park!

Maybe. First on the agenda would be the Diplomas in Paralegal Studies and Criminal Justice. If the courses are good, I can use them to gauge my interest in the profession and serve as a launching point for my study for certification.

Buuuut, there are a few other educational ventures I have to balance it with. Namely, my recent push to turn one of my languages from near-fluent to fluent and my desire to be much more well informed in the area of nutrition. There are some books from the library I've been forcing myself not to take out until I'm done with the BA.

I'd have to waste a lot of time posting instead of studying in order to make that happen. Actually- that fact probably makes it more of a reasonable probability.

    4901 + 11 = 5000? :pat:

I am not sure how I came up with that miscalculation.

You're an MBA. You don't "do" math, that is for the little people. You put together a synergistic working group to scrum through the process. Using Six Sigma processes and agile you draft a white paper on the cost benefits analysis of working out the math problem. After several revisions, you come to the conclusion that it's cheaper and easier to outsource your equations to the Philippines.

Then you laugh out loud while climbing into your BMW 330ix sipping your charmel machioto from Starbucks.

    ^^^ LOL!

Coincidentally, I myself have been outsourcing some work to the Philippines lately. I'd never be able to make $5 stretch that far in the states with any worker over 10 years old :)

    Countdown: 9 credits to BA

Brought to ruin 3 more FEMAs today. I've been extra busy this past week with non-school related tasks, so it's a good feeling to be able to reduce that largely looming number. It's bad that I had to drudge through more of those horrible FEMA courses. Good news is: only 3 more left! FEMA could be out of my life permanently as early as tomorrow, time permitting

    Remaining
    3 - FEMA
3 - ECE Introduction to Philosophy
3 - DSST Money and Banking

    Countdown: 9 credits to BA

    T-minus 6 Credits

Ding-dong, the FEMAS are dead!! Already have a decent jump on my remaining two exams. The ECE looks rather easy (an into course on a subject I already have some knowledge of, so it should be cake) and I'm drudging along on the DSST outline, so far without any trip ups.

    Remaining
3 - ECE Introduction to Philosophy
3 - DSST Money and Banking

    Countdown: 6 credits to BA

Well I passed, but no A this time, just a lowly B. To be honest, I'm extremely disappointed, but I can't help but to feel the test was unfair. Several questions on philospher's whose works are not mentioned in the content guide, several questions on philosophers who only get a passing mention (as opposed to the dirth of questions on big names of Plato, Kant, Hume, Descartes), and no less than 10 questions about a single, esoteric philospher whose work was not prescribed in the content guide. Barely any questions asking to apply concepts or follow a line of reasoning. This exam is all memorization, and mostly memorization of stuff that you might have missed if you didn't read every single footnote.

Anyway, only one exam left, a pass/fail DSST Money & Banking. The B stole my elation, but the countdown continues nonetheless.

    Countdown: 3 credits to BA

Is it still DL if I never took any DL courses? I'm more like the poster boy of not going to college, but getting a degree anyway ::headbang:

Thanks :) I'm not proud of the B :irked: nor the missteps along the way :irked:, but I'm glad that this monkey is shortly going to have to find another back to ride on.

Man, this thread is pretty exciting! I am being dead serious when I say that. I am eagerly awaiting the announcement that Maniac has finished the last 3 credit hours. It is pretty cool to see someone succeed.

One more exam... one measly little exam. I have no interest in failing this test, so I have decided to do something I have never done in my life- overstudy. I'm making an outline based on the Fact Sheet and using a textbok from the library as my main source. I have downloaded about 5 hours worth of video lectures that I will put in my mobile player and loop during every free waking moment. Lastly, I'm paying extra special attention to the sample questions from the Fact Sheet and am strongly considering, again for the first time ever, buying the practice exams.

I really don't want to blow this opportunity. If all goes well, I should be taking this exam by the end of next week. Then, it's just paperwork.
