    Only X questions left...

    I never know if I am truly studying enough or even the right content for these exams. To help me gain a bit of perspective on this (by all accounts, massively difficult) exam, I was curious about how much stuff I really needed to KNOW, as opposed to getting answers correct by chance.

    Total # of questions (Q) = 96
    # of correct needed to pass (P) = Q/2 = 48

    Therefore...

    48 = # of KNOWN correct answers (K) + # of chance correct answers (C)

    C = (96-K)/4

    Therefore...

    48 = K + (96-K)/4

    K = 32

    Wow, really? If all I know outright is the answer to 32 questions, chance should be enough to grant me the passing score. Low as that number is, it's actually fairly conservative, since it neither counts how many questions I can increase the chance from 1/4 to 3/4 or 1/2 by eliminating obviously incorrect answers nor does it take into account how much greater the curve would be for this (zOMG SO HARDD!!##1) exam.

    What a facinating way to look at it.

    The DSST Money & Banking was such an odd experience. A wild mix of common sense and just plain impossible questions. There were many questions that were ambiguously worded and many others that were overloaded with much higher level jargon than any of my study materials addressed. Most of my answers came down to eliminating as many wrong choices as I could reason from the inadequate knowledge that I had to actually address the question's content.

    I ended up with a 58- which means that I didn't merely pass DSST, I lapped it several times over.

    Am I to understand that you just completed your bachelor's degree?

    Nope. MBA. Why are you resurrecting this 10-year-old thread, Rip Van Heiks? A lot has changed since you last posted here :jester:

    A ten-year-old thread? The first post only dates from July 2012.
