What is misleading is when (dis)Agreeable relies on old information. I no longer teach for VIU.

Someone called VIU and asked someone there if VIU was accredited. The person answering the question said VIU was accredited by the state. This is a fine distinction, one we make all the time on this board. I didn't defend it then, and I'm not now. But what you had there was someone using the wrong nomenclature. Wrong, but hardly the earth-shattering event you make it. Gee, I can't imagine what (dis)Agreeable's real agenda is! But isn't that true with anonymous posters who behave like this?

All new schools start off as unaccredited. What defines them is what they do from there. VIU may succeed, it may fail. But it will do so in a bid as a legitimate school. I hope they succeed, but I won't be a player in it.

As for (dis)Agreeable's pity, I'll do without. His/her facts on that matter, as with everything else so far, are wrong.

I confess it. I AM judgmental. I tend to judge harshly people who use bogus credentials to imply a level of educational accomplishment that they have not, in fact, achieved.

This is not free speech or free association or freedom of religion or anything else than plain dishonesty.

"agreeable" is not only "agreeable", but also "amused".

    Both are gone.

I thought there was an amused and agreeable similarity. :)
