I have a hostile attitude toward virtually everybody. Sometimes it's vague, sometimes it's quite focused.

Misanthropy is the general hatred, dislike, distrust or contempt of the human species or human nature. A misanthrope or misanthropist is someone who holds such views or feelings. The word's origin is from the Greek words μῖσος (misos, "hatred") and ἄνθρωπος (anthrōpos, "man, human"). The condition is often confused with asociality.

Madly. It's mainly the misanthropy, though. That's what seals it. Kindred spirits.

If you think so, you are vastly underestimating most evangelicals' capacity for and tolerance of hypocrisy.

That tolerance of hypocrisy is what drove me away from the institutional church. I expected more of people who claimed to be following God. It was enormously disappointing and even years later, after having been on the inside, served multiple times as a leader in evangelical churches, even on paid staff, and seen the way sausage is made there, I still shudder. Not at Jesus--at many of the liars and Machiavellian schemers who claim to follow Him.

But that said, I find the same levels of hypocrisy in secular academia and the world as a whole. It's just that it's more up front in those milieus, where people are more likely to be frank about their motivations ("Jus' lookin' out for Number One!") rather than engaging in all manner of "nice" reasons for their ill behavior and that of their gurus. So on some level, the general state of hypocrisy in the world as opposed to the church is more tolerable. But in my experience, people all over will point a bony finger at the other side, but will be absolutely blind to the weaknesses and foibles of their own.

I don't find this to be primarily an evangelical issue--and again, let me reiterate: I have yet to meet an evangelical who thinks Trump is just hunky dory. I think a lot of that line of argument is just a straw man.

I suspect you’re right. That’s why it will be interesting to watch.

Twenty women accused Trump of sex and he was elected. My God - he actually had sex.!? Two more will affect nothing other than some heads popping on people who will never vote for him anyways. Perhaps some of you grey haired lovers of Five Finger Mary might worry about getting some yourselves and let Trump worry about what he is or isn't getting.

So is your point that it's bad Trump was elected due to his lasciviousness? Or is your point that we shouldn't care, should mind our own business and let it go? What is your point?

Trump hump has nothing to do with electability. Those who dislike him will still dislike him but with raised blood pressure. Those who like him will still vote for him. Simply a recycled story with different sluts.

"thus potentially paving the way for Ms. Clifford to break her silence without consequences."

So 21 women say they had sex with Trump. And his approval ratings are way ahead of those immediately before his election win. I suspect 2018 and 2020 will be fought on issues. BUILD THAT WALL!

I think that the point is that who Trump has sex with is basically irrelevant. I voted for Trump and the reason I did so is that he was pretty much the only candidate, Republican or Democrat, that actually spoke to the issues that I thought were most important.

The point is that Trump's supporters are likely to continue supporting him until a better candidate appears who actually listens to them and speaks to their concerns. The Democrats have collectively gone crazy since Trump was elected and show no signs of doing anything like that. The 'never-Trump' establishment Republicans don't offer Middle America very much either. So Trump retains his support by default.

To an extent, I agree. We all knew he was a perv. It's been common knowledge for years. But it's the details of the confidentiality agreement that are the real point. Are we supposed to believe that Cohen paid Daniels 130K of his own money without Trump's knowledge? How many other women have signed such agreements and been paid off. Daniels was a willing participant but were some of these women unwilling? Why is there a paternity clause in the agreement? Are there some little Trumps running around that we're unaware of? If not, where did the money come from? Do we believe that an attorney entered into a contractual agreement on behalf of a client without the client's knowledge and consent? Was this deal made immediately before the election in order to assist Trump's image? That by itself is a violation of Federal law. Is Cohen going to take that bullet for Trump? Will he lose his law license? Go to jail? Inquiring minds want to know!
