Proceeding? Are you a MIGS student, or just a prospective one? And what do you mean by "stucked"?

It would be interesting to know if MIGS is still in business.

Thank you indeed, Dear Mr. Rich Douglas for your immediate response:)

It's the case of 11 enrolled students who have paid the initial payment, but couldn't proceed with the program because of the lack of answers to 3 simple relevant basic questions realting specifically to each student:
    * What's the exact academic program
    * How long it will take to complete the personal program.
    * How much it will cost (after crediting
the personal educational and professional background).

Mr. Ric Feinberg (Dean, now ?) says one thing: follow the directions. But if the students have not an idea about the three basic points - they can't pay for the next step.

But, Mr. Rich Douglass, maybe the reason is that MIGS doesn't work anymore !
As you say that it's interesting to know if it's keeping in still being in business !

If you could, Mr. Rich, to help with those students who have started the program and are still interesting in completing it.

    Thanks in advance, indeed.

Are you involved with toar.org (which you list as your homepage in your profile)? Former denizens of AED will recall discussion of Toar's involvement with Ray Chasse's infamous nonwonderful American Coastline University. Looking again at the toar.org webpage today, I see a link to American Coastline University, as well as one to All Saints American University. Plus a reference to everyone's favorite: MIGS ("Internationally respected Graduate Degree from a fully accredited, prestigious ... University").

It is my opinion that here are 11 people here who did not adequately research the program.

    1. Why would one pay even one dollar without knowing what the total cost of the program would be?

    2. The same question applies to length of study. All eleven enrolled without any information of duration of program?

    3. And what about academic program? You guys enrolled without even knowing what was required?

This is either an attempt at humor, or these guys would do well in a Trinity C/U program.

MIGS Ph.D. student: Yes, I am really enjoying the program, all is going well, but I don't know what it will cost. Actually, I don't know how long it will take either. Come to think about it, I don't even know what the academic program is. [IMG]

    Dear Gert Potgieter,

Can you advise and show a respected and useful way to help each of the students, personally ?

(Who is the respected one - thee who respect the others...:)

    Tahnk you;

Of course they have seen the MIGS website / Catalog etc.

But the point is that in accordance to these sources of information the last details of the academic requirements, long of period of time and the tuition fees depends on the background and the personal agreement.

Beside, you can't know exactly what will be your tuition fee even if you know how much costs the enrollment, every credit (and you have to pay for each credit you been credited), etc.
It seems that this problem arises in most of the accredited institutes.

  9. I'm not sure if this is a joke or not. Probably so, but in case it's not let me provide useful help by advising these students to quickly abandon this path. But can anyone today possibly believe that MIGS is a good way to go? It's got to be a joke. Ok, I get it...

To clarify my previous post, the late Ray Chasse was involved with many institutions ranging from straight degree mills such as University of Melchizedek, c/o Ambassador of Melchizedek (presumably a joke) to Western International (now legit and part of Apollo Group). But he's best remembered for the well-known nonwonderfuls American Coastline and Summit of Louisiana.

All Saints American University is a degree mill wholesaler (provides degrees and other graduation services with no questions asked to other institutions that want to offer degrees without the burden of printing their own).

And MIGS we all know and love.

    Dear Mr. Rich Douflass:

    If you could clarify, please:

Is MIGS authorized to be in business or not ?

    Beside, in general:

Why eleven times each of the students choose MIGS ?
Because they wanted an accredited University,
    a concrete program,
    real cost
    and 100% DL.
They have seen taht MIGS is really accredited, included in the prestigious International Directory of UNESCO
and it fits to their needs, to each of them.

The only problem is the implementation.
The froginess in the specific and persoanal terms referring to the academic requirements, duration, and TOTAL cost.

If you could, Rich, help with this problem -
it will make each of us much more happier...

  14. I see Toar and its connections with American Coastline and MIGS have already been mentioned here in another recent thread: http://www.degreeinfo.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002322.html (specifically in the posts by John Bear and Peter French).

I think cul has a three part question. One is what is the cost(s) of theMIGS/CEU program.
The second is how likely is MIGS/CEU to deliver what they promise. amd Three, if delivered will it be worth anything.
While it is true the exact program at MIGS/CEU may depend on the "credit for life experience", you can tell the high end costs of the degree (take all new coursework) from the bottem costs (almost everything covered by "cfle".
However, respectfully, the second issue is more difficult. If one does everything the MIGS/CEU webpage asks, is there a degree at the end of the rainbow? This will depend on the respectful MIGS/CEU staff/faculty. This question is answered somewhat by the track record of the individuals and the institution. Unfortunately there do not seem to be many students reporting positive things from MIGS/CEU. A new school has no track record. Then the question becomes, what is the track record of the staff/faculty? Again, not much to go on, (respectfully).
The third question, is even harder. Oregon seems to find that trying to use a MIGS degree in that state would be illegal (until MIGS finds out someway to operate legally somewhere in the USA). CEU can operate legally in Mexico. I think the general opinion has been that if the degree is really a CEU degree, it might be accepted. But if it is a "MIGS" degree it may never be accepted (or not accepted until MIGS can legally operate somewhere in the USA). So respectfully, MIGS/CEU is still in the same spot they were in two years ago.
The Mexico Elevan may want to look at all their options. Maybe testing the waters to see if they could transfer into another doctoral program? Maybe taking a vacation to Mexico and going to CEU and tryingto get the straight scoop.
    All the best!

It's CEU degree (and not MIGS')

It's included in UNESCO's Int. Directory - so it's acceptable all over the world...

Are you sure that CEU will issue the degrees?

As has been noted several times in this forum, the listing of a school in UNESCO handbook does not guarantee that a degree from that school will be accepted widely. Bern University (in the West Indies) is also listed in UNESCO handbook but degrees from Bern are not regarded as equivalent of degrees earned from RA schools.

    A. It's for sure 100%.
    Everyone can ensure that .

    B. Please be fair: UNESCO is worldwide acceptable authority.
    Period.

  19. Hah! I see that Israel Litman is getting back to his old self. One of my all-time favorite AED messages was the one in which Mr. Litman wrote (in a response to Steve Levicoff): Don't be an onanist dog masturbating abusing words. Of course, we do need to be respectful of each other…

The only problem is that the CEU hasn't yet issued a degree for MIGS (at least that we know of). If they ever do, the CEU may end up being collateral damage in the resulting explosion.
