It appears that mods do get a bigger (if not unlimited) sig line.

But hey, you get the longer sig line for the hard work.

 

Why does the degreeinfo main page (bottom right hand corner) still say: "Moderators: 4"?

 

Admins don't show up as moderators. It's sort of a grandfathering thing between older and newer versions of vBulletin. Back 5 years ago, moderators did not have the abilities to ban posters and do some of the other things that they needed to do, so all the mods on degreeinfo were administrators.

The newer versions of vBulletin have much greater flexibliity and granularity in what tools and resources can be set for moderators, so everyone that is newly added goes into the moderator category, while everyone that was here before the last upgrade is actually an administrator, but with basically the same tools and resources as moderators. I and a couple of the behind-the-scenes people have a few more tools to do things like backups and site administration things.

 

The question should we "how are we not?!

 

Where it says "Moderators: 4," it says "Bruce, Chip, Kizmet, Randell." It is the new mods who aren't being listed.

 

Oh.

Hmmm. That might also be an artifact of the old system; the admins might be assigned to the forums while the new moderators are global and can moderate all forums. I'll look and see if i can find that setting
