HAHA. Of course, I will probably choose one of these, however, I was looking for other people to tell me one or two, if I missed them. I searched through old posts and saw a few of these mentioned above, however I figured maybe there are others here who knew more. Also, I do not want to just write a paper to get a thesis..in a way I do consider this a diploma mill. I want a solid education that I can learn a great deal. But if there was something that was faster, I saw some programs have masters and things to finish in a year with rigorous studies..but that is not most important...I would rather take longer, and get something of prestige.

Like I said, thank you and sorry too. I thought I was being singled out. Yes, I suggested Nations U to myself! LOL. You are getting a doctorate at Liberty? I saw the fees are low...but I need free. The only thing about Nations U is that there is a Masters of Religion, or Masters of Divinity..and I was really hoping for something along the lines of M.A. of Ministry. Can you really get a doctorate before you get a masters? I guess I need to look at Nations U at that.

Right..Nations U does not have a doctorate program...Also I typed wrong..It is Galois...and this one is my first pick...They will not accept everyone..you have to be working in ministry for 3 years full time and 5 years part time.

Your expectations and requests are unusual, unreasonable and unrealistic

There are many academic experts on this board with years of experience in the education industry. Can you please inform them of the error of their ways?

I just named several of the colleges that I have found in my research.
Christian schools DO offer free tuition masters and doctorate degrees. Several of them are accredited. I would like to know in which way I am unrealistic.

You are SO wrong! Here's the link to an Ames Christian U. Master's program -- and there are other degrees.

Are you sure you have the reading comprehension skills required for a master's degree? :la:

    And furthermore...

I'd like to know why you think G*d should give you a free college education. He made just about all of us (including me) pay for our own...and we (by and large) did so without complaining to Him.

It's wonderful that you've answered your own questions. Now that your questions have been answered, good luck in obtaining your free, unaccredited and well respected doctorate! Godspeed!

I only had a chance to look at one of two of the links you provided. Which ones are free and accreditied by an agency recognized by the DOE? If you say they are accreditied by an agency not recognized by the DOE, that is a different story. I can create an "accrediting agency" and offer a free degree.

It's probably too late now, but it would have been much more helpful if someone had addressed this issue much earlier in the thread.

The Original Poster was obviously confused about the different types of accreditation that religious degrees may have in the US -- and clearly acknowledged this point. Many of the degree programs cited by the OP do, in fact, explicitly claim to be "accredited".

Unfortunately, no one explained to the OP that "accreditation" can be meaningless, if the accrediting agency is unrecognized by the US Dept. of Education. So the OP didn't understand (and probably still doesn't understand) the rationale for the responses posted in this thread, and left in frustration.

The degreeinfo community dropped the ball on this one. All the OP got from this thread was mockery, instead of explanation.

Granted, it may well be unrealistic to expect a institution with recognized accreditation to offer a free graduate program. But I can easily understand that a newbie could see free degree programs from "accredited" schools, and could be led to believe otherwise.

Now to be fair, I think the certificate is free and you can transfer those credits to the degree program which cost about $2K. Don't confuse the two.

The guy simply had a question. There was no reason for anyone to be rude to him. If you feel someone is misinformed, inform them, don't deride them. Please? :(

If you are a person who is looking to go into ministry, and there are quality Christian institutions who feel that educating Christian ministers is thier primary calling then a University like Ames makes sense. Now I am a high earning Project Manager and have expensive degrees that I paid for to further those goals. I would not rely on Ames University to provide me a quality education in business or Project Management. That said I am interested in Ames Masters and Doctorate because I am 60 years old and I am looking at the next chapter of my life. I am interested in Christian ministry. My research reveals a solid Post Grad curriculum and 80000 students world wide. If I had a degree from Harvard Seminary would I be closer to God than if I attend Ames University?

My suggestion would be to contact your Christian denomination and ask what is required to work as a minister. Each denomination is different, the MDiv is the traditional degree for ministry but many denominations require this degree to be RA or ATS. I work as a volunteer minister for interfaith churches and the training did not require a degree but a certificate given by an interfaith seminary and ordination by a recognized church. Ordination is many cases requires 3 to 4 years of service after degree or training in a church.

I wouldn't recommend an online degree to become a minister, you need to network and practice as a minister by giving lectures and performing services and this experience cannot be earned online. Also, you might need to get a local license in your country to perform wedding ceremonies, services, etc and many times this requires an affiliation with a registered church in your area of residence. You cannot assume that a degree earned online will be accepted by a local denomination as many have their own training.

Most denominations give free training or charge little or give training in exchange of service so you might be able to get free training at a local denomination.

Religion or desire to serve God?

If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides].

What just happened here? So odd...

“I want a free Masters and or Doctorate and i want it fast”

This makes no sense in the context of this forum.

You might have become momentarily confused by the 8 year time warp that occurred around post #35-#36
