    My BSL

My WSU BSL was earned as part of my JD. Back when WSU was a Cal approved school I could get in with 60 units earned from another school and complete the BS degree. I attended USC and left after my Junior year and went to WSU.

While WSU was a good place to study I regret that I did not finish at USC. The main reason is that my Mom was paying for school at the time and USC was about $300 a unit. Now it's $900 bucks a unit and while my Mom is a very nice person she refuses to now pick up the tab for the last 30 units at USC. (damn!!!!)

As far as a PWU diploma goes I guess I stuck my keyboard in my mouth with that statement!!!!

I only write this because MY CPA is such an authority on the Tax code that even if he bought a St. Regis, PWU AND Robertstown I would still have him do my taxes.

( of course he went to USC, Southwestern University School of Law and Golden Gate University for a Masters in Taxation but don't let THAT fool you)

You're still a fan and supporter of academic fraud. Like I said, the best predicter of future behavior is past behavior.

Hmmm, let's see, they're both unaccredited. They both seem to be making promises that their diploma mill behavior is only a thing in the past. They are both clearly substandard. They both offer generous "life experience" credit for the Ph.D. They both hide who the owner of the scam is. They have both been the focus of journalist stories that have demonstrated their diploma millish behavior.

Where's the shaggy dog in that story? Do you have the ability to respond with facts rather than just this kind of empty nonsense, "marvelous ridiculous" and "what a shaggy dog story"

CalBar accreditation has some interesting consequences when a law school suddenly receives ABA accreditation. A good friend of mine entered Thomas Jefferson with 60 odd s.h. and no degree. This was possible because TJ was a CalBar school. Lo and behold, they got provisional ABA accreditation JUST before she finished her J.D. Result? Her ABA J.D. is her ONLY degree!

    BS/BA to PhD???

I know it's not the same thing but I've seen a couple of instances where someone has made this quantum leap in degrees and I have never been able to figure it out.

I mean, how can someone just do a PhD in a given field without a substantive background ala a Masters?

I guess it can be done but I don't know how.

    Re: BS/BA to PhD???

Actually, it's common for universities to admit people with bachelors degrees directly into doctoral programs. In fact, some universities prefer to do it that way. If they admit students with masters degrees, they treat them as transfer students into the doctoral program.

An example is UC Berkeley's philosophy department. They only offer a B.A. and a Ph.D.

What happens is that the bachelors level admits take an additional 30 semester units as a part of their doctoral program, so they essentially do the same work. The university treats all of a student's graduate work as part of a single program, instead of dividing it into separate and distinct masters and doctoral programs.

One problem with that has been that lots of students were failing to complete their doctoral programs and were leaving ABD. That left these people with their bachelors degree as their highest degree. So some universities have taken to awarding masters degrees to their doctoral students midway, upon completion of at least thirty semester units and usually upon completing comprehensive examinations and advancing to candidacy.

I do, because I did it. You do more work.

It is a common thing for people to be admitted to traditional Ph.D. programs on the basis of a bachelor's. Some earn master's degrees along the way (or as consolation prizes for failed dissertation efforts). Others do not, going from the bachelor's to the doctorate. But the amount of work is the same--the master's-qualified candidate gets a head start.

UC Berkeley's Boalt Hall offers a Ph.D. in Jurisprudence and Social Policy. The M.A. is the consolation prize.

No, not "My way" but the "right" way," the "honest" way, the accredited way, the legitimate way, the respected way.

One need not dignify with a response your uneducated misuse of the word "Inquisition" (but I'd be surprised if your knowledge of history is as deep as your addiction to diploma mill shillings).

No, not "Inquisition," but "public exposure."

No, not "Inquisition," but "The Truth Squad."

No, not "Inquisition" because you (dr. L J) do not respond directly to questions and requests for evidence but instead, you provide more obtuse one-liners, evasive nonsense, and more blatant and disgusting support for overtly blatant and disgusting diploma mills.

Thank you, Uncle! - valued and internationally respected member of "The Truth Squad."

For the benefit of all new Degreeinfo members, information seekers, lurkers:

Let us now introduce and expose "The Mill Shills / Lying Squad."

Meet mill owners and shills, as seen thus far in this thread, purveying half-truths, untruths, and blatant nonsense about the so-called new and improved PW"U"/ PWE and the so-called value and worthiness of PW"U" / PWE degrees.

Here they are, ..... applause...... applause ........., no, boos ...... boos ....... meet members of the

    "Mill Shills Hall of Shame:"

    (d)r. Latin Juris
    Philip Forte
    Morgan Khanstein

    Who have I missed?

    Thanks.
