Online Doctorate in AI & ML

The George Washington University offers Doctor of Engineering (DEng) in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, the program is commencing in August 2023.

• SEAS 8510 Analytical Methods for Machine Learning (3 credit hours)

Tuition is $1,750.00 per credit x 48 credits = $84,000.00

This actually looks like a fantastic program. The courses seem very interesting.

 

GW is located in Washington DC near the State Department in Foggy Bottom. The mailing address for this program is in Newport Beach, California. It also employs a non-academic url: https://seas.allcampus.com/contact-us/ in addition to the GW .edu addresses it uses. I wonder who they are? Are they an organic part of GW, or some sort of external partner conducting these degrees?

Note that this is a weekend program. Classes are live and synchronous, requiring 6 hours attendance on Saturdays throughout the year.

Prerequisite: A bachelor’s and master’s degree, at least one of which must be in the following field: engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a closely related field. GPA 3.2 or higher.

This is not an open admission program. "Our doctoral programs are highly selective; meeting minimum admissions requirements does not guarantee admission."

If I were to pursue a doctorate, I think I’d pursue this one. Seems like a good program from the outside looking in.

No, the program just started. It is a researched based DBA. I might not return to the University of the Cumberlands' program. I want to focusing on technology business and start-up.

My wife did her NP master's in a program co-conducted by GW and George Mason U. There is NOTHING about GW that is affordable. Ever.

 

I have never really been a Penn State fan. They could have a doctorate for $10K and I’d probably avoid them. That is just me though as they work for most folks. All talk is hypothetical though because as of today, there is not a doctorate in my future.

 

Interesting, how come? I don't Penn State at all so I'm just curious.

Congrats Josh! Did you ask GWU why the program point of contact out of California instead of Washington D.C, or their extend campuses in Nortfolk, Ashburn, Arlington and Alexandria, Virginia? Also, did you receive any scholarship?
