I'm not going to look into his father because that's guilt by association and doesn't count. You can't choose your parents.

The fine, I'm assuming you are talking about the housing lawsuit way back 1970s which was settled out of court. That proves nothing.

Can you find a specific example where Trump said something racist? Like a direct quote and not some B.S. hearsay stuff that would never hold up in a court of law.

Starting Googling. This should be easy to find right?

You can believe whatever you want. I'm really not the least bit interested in debating this with you. I find your logical somersaults amusing but not really worth much of my time though. Here's one article though.

Donald Trump’s long history of racism, from the 1970s to 2020

No. I began lurking here perhaps around 20000. Maybe that was the same time you transitioned from Usenet. I remember he discussed that he was home-schooled. For a time he was researching doctorates. Perhaps in Australia. Yes.I've been at Degreeinfo a good long time. I was even mentioned a time or two in John Bear's Christmas poetry. <3

If all you got is that VOX link, that's pretty weak evidence. "You never heard anything about Donald Trump being racist until he ran for president," Floyd Mayweather said.

This was true, nobody was calling Trump a racist and they wouldn't have allowed him to have his own TV show if he was racist.

Here are some more blatantly racist Biden quotes

There's a rumor that those song artists planned all along to join back with Spotify.

They used the Joe Rogan thing to gain some free press.

They were going to let things settle down and quietly join back with Spotify hoping nobody would notice. They got caught though.

Racism is bad, and so is a complete lack of journalistic integrity. As usual, Vox can't just take an easy layup and instead just have to sneak in all of the dishonest tactics that make them a pathetic joke of a media company. That article is full of mischaracterizations, conflations and contextomy.

This is where I get accused of defending Trump. No. If Donald Trump kicks 10 puppies, it is a lie to claim that he kicked 15 puppies. It is bad to kick 10 puppies and it is also bad for the media to say that he kicked 15.

Except they were calling him racist. The Vox article you dismissed goes back to the 80s. More recently, Trump was called racist when he baselessly claimed Obama was born in Kenya in 2011 or suggesting that Obama hadn't graduated from Columbia - long before his run for President. (https://www.salon.com/2011/04/28/donald_trump_discrimination_suit/)

And I assume now you're going to change the definition of racism again or apply an unreasonable standard of it like earlier when you said someone can only be racist based on their statements and not their actions, which is bizarre.

The network's principal personality was Matt Lauer, so their screening at that level clearly wasn't perfect.

Racism means treating people differently based on the color of people's skin.

White liberals dumb themselves down when they speak to black people, a new Yale study contends

    https://www.psychologicalscience.org/news/white-liberals-dumb-themselves-down-when-they-speak-to-black-people-a-new-study-contends.html

    Actual racism being practiced today

COVID Relief Bill provides debt relief for Farmers, but only farmers “of color”

Discrimination against Asian-American kids at Ivy League schools

College blacks have their own dorm

    College blacks have separate graduation

COVID vaccines based on skin color

The University of Michigan-Dearborn announces whites-only cafe (They called it a Non-POC Cafe, for non-People of Color… a woke way of saying “white”)

Yale University speaker fantasized about shooting white people (This was just sicking)

Chicago Mayor Lightfoot granting interviews ONLY with ‘black and brown reporters’

    Uncle Tom

Who are these people calling blacks Uncle Tom? Why can't blacks have their own opinions such as questioning the COVID vaccine mandates? Why can't blacks vote Republican/Libertarian/Independent or anything besides Democrat?

Ask yourself who believes in White Privilege?

I believe that's racist by itself anyone that uses the term white privilege in any conversation.

Facts to back up White Privilege is BS

Indians are closest in skin color to blacks yet are the top-earning people in the U.S. Asians overall earn far more than whites. And black Nigerians earn more than the average white person. White privilege? What a joke.

I think I've said all I'll need to say on this topic.

So I'll end with this 2-minute video which is the only video you need to watch to fully understand how white privilege works.

Charles titled this thread "Maggot-Infested Hippies etc." I'm not going to quarrel with him about that, simply because I know how far I won't get. I'll just say that these guys are in their 70s and 80s. Yes, they've had some medical issues, natch. David Crosby had a liver transplant - reported to be necessitated by his long battle with Hep-C, although he has had alcohol issues in the past. And yes, there have been run-ins with the law. And yes again, "hippies" fits. No reported cases of maggot infestation. Zero. Now I'll move on.

Are we all aware here of how much these old guys have accomplished musically? Even just the numbers - 35 million albums! They're all musicians of enormous and varied talents and influences. They deserve their fame. And knowing what I do of old age, I'll overlook some eccentricities. I have my own - lots of 'em.

Here's a start on how much CSN(Y) have accomplished, together and as individuals.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Stills
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Nash
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Young

@Charles Fout These guys are wicked rich! If they wanted, they could mount an expensive, endless lawsuit against someone who called them unappetizing names with no backup. Fact is, they could sue DI as well. That bothers me more... MUCH more....

Well, my stepfather was at Woodstock. He journeyed across country by way of bus, I believe. He was a hippie, yes. Was he maggot infested, certainly not. He passed away two years ago, this October. Now, I know Charles was not speaking for every hippie out there..LOL

I'm of that generation - but I wasn't there. I was 26, married, a square office-job. I did have a beard and played guitar and a hatful of harmonicas, though. Had some awful-looking pseudo-psychedelic shirts and a big hat for off-hours, too. That was about it. Can't remember where I went, Woodstock weekend. Probably a country ramble in our 1962 Chevy II convertible. As a hippie - fake all the way. :)

MediaBiasFactCheck.com rates Vox as Mostly Factual. That is not a bad rating especially considering that Very High is extremely rare.

To be fair, it also rates Vox as pretty far to the left, which it is.

Absolutely true, the article seems to me to be a pretty complete history and analysis of the likely racist leanings of number 45. Right leaning media would likely never even consider writing an article on the topic. Some folks would claim Trump is not racist even if he was found wearing a KKK hood while shooting minorities on Fifth Avenue. It's a difficult topic.

I simply don't care. They joined the mob trying to silence Joe Rogan. They failed. Whatever their past accomplishments, they have become irrelevant. I was familiar with Joe Rogan as an MMA Commentator and proponent of 10th Planet Jiujitsu - Eddie Bravo - Eddie Bravo. I joined Spotify because I agree with the decision to stand by their Joe Rogan Contract. Turns out I really don't enjoy JRE, my only Spotify Channel. I want to send him a list of adjectives and adverbs. We should be able to converse without every other word being some conjugation of the 'FBomb.' Still, neither old hasbeens nor anyone else are sanctified in silencing dissidents.
