This news is some weeks old now, but I've just learned that Jordan Peterson is launching his own academy. He plans to offer a Bachelor's for around $4000 (US? Canadian?) and says he's working on accreditation as well.

A few years ago Jordan Peterson marketed a Jordan Peterson Fellowship track in the Acton School of Business MBA, which was accredited through Hardin-Simmons University. Then Hardin-Simmons closed the program.

Then Jordan Peterson marketed some sort of "Executive Director Course" billed as a "Next MBA."

Then Jordan Peterson became chancellor of Ralston College, a startup in Savannah, Georgia teaching an MA in Humanities and seeking accreditation. Locals wonder if Ralston College is still operating. Ralston's website lists Jordan Peterson as Chancellor today.

Jordan Peterson certainly has a track record of announcing Jordan Peterson higher-ed programs.

Fascinating. It wouldn't be my cup of tea, but I would expect something backed by him to do very well among a certain set.

Possibly, - if the "certain set" consists of racist, homophobic, misogynistic, climate-change-denying white men who are angry because society is becoming more diverse. And people who subscribe to Peterson's pet theories. e.g. nobody is born into poverty and if someone is poor - it's on them, totally, because they messed up. And yes - education of women. Peterson believes that it's nice that women have more educational opportunities, but the more they get, the more it lowers the birthrate and that's bad for society...

No Peterson. No Peterson schools. No Peterson podcasts. No Peterson books. No Peterson anything. Ever. What have some people been smoking around here?

Well, that doesn't bode well for his current venture then, eh?

Good work, Detective @Jonathan Whatley !

So... just to be clear, you don't like him, right?

Right. There's just such an awful lot not to like.... hard to get it all in. I didn't. Not even close.

So you are chanceling him because he doesn't support the green diverse colourful ideology, which among other things wants to transform women into men and men into woman. Congratulations on your tolerance towards people who have a different point of view then the dominating green left wing colourful ideology which i personally hate.

Actually we shouldn't discuss politics here it leads nowhere.

Tolerance of intolerance is, in itself, intolerance.

As a straight cis woman who doesn't fit into inceldom's ideas of "femininity", I think Jordan Peterson, his ilk, and their ideas should be canceled for all time and eternity.

Women (and men) should be allowed to do what careers they want without having to deal with the toxic ideas that there is only "one way" to "correctly" be their gender.

I wasn't too interested until I began reading the replies this thread. I'm continuously fascinated by the enormous disconnect between the things he actually says vs the things people say he says.

The most important thing here is that no university curriculum should ever be the product of a single person's worldview. There needs to be many qualified minds working on the endeavor and, hopefully, the very same ideological diversity that Peterson laments is lacking in many other colleges. I'll believe that when I see it.

By "diversity", Peterson (and the like) are generally upset that the idea that universities are (more or less) open to all and that it's okay for women to go to university and have careers.

Good points. I am not a fan of his (not anti either). He does better sticking to his field as a Clinical Psychologist than wandering far afield.

I agree that like JK Rowling people react to him based on what they think he said or what they think he means rather than what he actually said. People get triggered without actually listening or understanding.

That Channel 4 interviewer was in over her head. The interview is a classic and could be used in university communication, journalism, and psychology classes.

You're slipping, Johann766. You missed getting "woke" in there, somehow. I know you don't like that. You've said so.
Sticks and stones, bro. (But whips and chains excite me.)

It doesn't surprise me that this smackdown condemnation of Peterson isn't you quoting Peterson's words in context, but you quoting somebody else who is quoting Peterson's words out of context and wildly misrepresenting what he actually professes to believe.

This passage in Rachel's post is direct quote and what seems like conventional neutral paraphrase of Peterson himself, and I think he takes it to a place that deserves "Gross."

I'm not sure what you're implying he means, but here's his explanation of what he means.

You can take it or leave it, but it would be nice if we could at least agree to take or leave what he actually stands for and not a distortion of what he stands for.
