    Re: Another explanation?

My money is on one of these theories for sure. He sure seems like someone who feels that he has been badly burned by the current system of legal education in California. MOST people with legal qualifications such as those we believe he may have would be out in the world trying to make a career. Surely very few would be focused on his ideas unless there is an underlying reason of which he did not tell us.

    Re: Another explanation?

I would loathe taking that exam twice. Once was enough. Anyone who put in 5 yrs or so of legal education after the non-ABA JD and the LL.M. and then ran smack up against a silly little test they couldn't pass to practice would tend to get a mite testy (no pun intended). You wouldn't be human if you didn't.

By the way, you showed great reserve in not torching the guy--I'd hate to try and be the one to rattle your cage in court. Then again, court's probably where you learned those skills. As many years as you've practiced, I'll bet you've been hit w/ your share of gut shots and cheap shots. Probably are calloused against them.

And factually incorrect as well. There are plenty of researchers with MDs who never undertook a residency and aren't licensed to practice.

Speakling of LL.M.s, you gonna move forward with that UoL thing to certificate stage, diploma stage, or--gasp--Masters stage, or is that TBD based on results of latest round of tests?

    Just being nosey.

    Nose away!

It will depend on the results of the May exams. If I passed (50 or better) that will mean that I figured out what they want. If I failed, there's a second shot in October.

If I passed, I intend to sign up for the second double section of jurisprudence and examine in May 2007. I'll probably also take one section of criminal justice at the same time. Sooo, I will have received the PG Certificate by this time (well, August) 2007.

I long ago ceased to be defensive about who and what I am. "Torching" JDLLM2 would not only be a violation of Jewish ethics (seriously shaming someone in public is likened to murder) but it would be pointless.

I don't know what his problem is; it saddens me that he did not perceive me as someone who would have valued his experiences and might even have been able to advise him in overcoming whatever setbacks he might have suffered, assuming any such help or advise was necessary.

Have you ever been "pilloried in print" as Mark Twain puts it? I have. I won't do it to another.

    Any validity to this?

HE IS TERMED OUT AS A SENATOR.

ARNOLD HAS INDICATED THAT HE WILL VETO ANY BILL THAT MIGHT
RESULT IN HARM TO THE UNACCREDITED LAW SCHOOLS.

FOR ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES, THE DUNN BILL IS DEAD

I don't know where this poster obtained his information. Anybody know if there is any truth to this?

    Re: Nose away!

Oh, you've seen a few pretty good shots I've taken here on this forum; there have been others in other places as well. Sometimes, alas, I've fired back and then felt like a fool. I usually say "I'm sorry", because I know it's not what my favorite rabbi from the area of Galilee would want. It's neither good Judaism nor good Christianity (and as you know already, I think the second's just a subdivision of the first).

I wish I had your self-control. But we're all on a journey, maybe I'll get there.
