Harris candidacy

Thanks for the clarifications. I guess that I sometimes try too hard to make sense out of political rhetoric?

When I was manager the company had very strict rules supporting DEI. Even so there was still problems. Another manager gave much lower raises to the women in his group. When he was asked by one of the women in his group about it, he stated that men needed higher salaries than women. He was quickly removed as manager. But apparently his big mistake was admitting his bias. When I took over a different group, I was shocked how slanted the pay was based on gender rather than performance.

The Republican's that are attacking Harris with this DEI smear apparently have no clue what DEI actually is.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) filed articles of impeachment against Vice President Harris on Tuesday, as Republicans ramp up attacks while she launches a presidential campaign.

The filing expands on previously introduced articles that target Harris’s record on immigration, a GOP rallying cry against the vice president.

Oh no. They know. They hate it because it's an attack on White Male Supremacy.

 

Which they call Christian Nationalism.

But this hate and fear doesn't sell well with large swaths of voters. Trump knows this. So does Speaker Johnson. But the bulk of MAGA hats either don't know it, think that Jesus will deliver them victory anyway (Jesus having been a white male after all), or don't care whether they win so long as they are "right".

 

And this is just one reason Trump is toast.

What a string of gobbly gook. I could only watch 2 minutes. The first two minutes can be summed as the simple fact that he's terrified by Biden backing out and Harris getting the huge backing and excitement from the Democratic base. He's just running scared because Trump might lose now in November! Absolutely hilarious!!

 

If it is a good tactic--one that strikes fear in your opponent--to drop the ineffective old man at the top of the ticket, why don't Republicans do it?

(Because it's a cult.)

Republicans lined up to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris with a new grassroots program that was launched on Sunday.

On Sunday, the "Harris for President" campaign announced "Republicans for Harris," a program designed to "further outreach efforts to the millions of Republican voters who continued to reject the chaos, division, and violence."

 

This was a strong part of the Democratic message, especially under Biden. If Lerner is surprised by it then it means to me that Democrats likely need to advertise it better.

Very interesting strategy.
The question is, what is offered on the issues?
Reason for "republicans" to vote for Harris?
If they don't want to vote for Trump they can vote for Independent?
What is Harris offering that will interest a republican beyond the mentioned?

 

What the Republicans for Harris are saying is that Trump would endanger America. For example, they point to January 6 as his danger to Democracy. They have also expressed concern for the chaos caused by Trump in the international arena where he panders to folks like Putin and the dictator of Hungry and bad mouths NATO and NATO countries that are our best allies.

Well duh.

 

The other major party is the only party that has a real chance of beating Trump. The independent candidate with the most support, RFK Jr., has mostly been polling below 5%. He's also in cahoots with Trump and admitted to sexually assaulting a woman. Birds of a feather.
