Since you're a cop and have studied criminal justice, I'm sure you have heard of and come across a lot of battered women who speak highly of their husbands and boyfriends. Battered woman's syndrome and Stockholm syndrome should have been covered in your studies. But, what facts would I be checking? She said what she said during the deposition. Those are undeniable facts. You can argue about whether or not the incident happened, but she described a rape and beating, and the judge believed her.
