Only if you want to. If so, request them from the Emperor. :)

No, you don't "have to" (not mandatory). But you could (optional).

Personally, I would never request a new diploma if any of my schools was to change its name. The diploma I have accurately represents the school I graduated from.

The school from which I earned an associate's and two bachelors has gone through five names since way back when. It matters not.

I can count on one hand how many times I was requested to submit a copy of diploma since graduating long long time ago.

Can't hurt to have original diploma and a new one.

What about Resume, or LinkedIn profile etc.
Should the graduate add additional line or comment?

    • Regents External Degree Program
    • Regents College Degree Program
    • Regents College
    • Excelsior College
    • Excelsior University
At least it isn't "Excelsior Institute and University." THAT would sound stupid.

USNY is the Board of Regents who run public higher education (and control all higher education), while SUNY is the state's university system.

My Regents diplomas and transcripts all say USNY. The transcripts also have the Albany address. After I was commissioned, the registrar at AFIT--which controls all officers' education records--listed me as a grad of SUNY Albany, which I most certainly was not. After seeing this, I got them on the phone and listened to them insist that I had, indeed, attended SUNY Albany, despite my pleas otherwise. This was the height of bubble-headed bureaucracy. I never won that argument, and throughout the rest of my career my undergraduate education was incorrectly recorded. I don't think it was ever material since I didn't apply to a service school for a master's degree, but still, it was pretty funny listening to them insist I attended a school I couldn't even locate on a map.

It would have been better if they hadn't changed from one thing that was confusing to another that was confusing, but oh well.

I still haven't gotten over the confusing analogous, yet certainly different, relationship of Boston College to Boston University.
