Did Donald Trump actually graduate from Wharton?

In the following thread, the question was raised. https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/born-in-a-prison-now-heading-to-harvard.62086/

A member deemed it political and suggested the commentary belonged there. So I started this thread and have copied the posts dealing with this topic.
My take: He did graduate. If he didn't succeed on his own, I think the University would have "made it happen" anyway. I have no idea which is the case , and if it was "made to happen," we'd never know. The whole thing seems a bit like George W. Bush's graduation from Yale. The school records show GWB ended up with a "Gentleman's C" - a 2.5 GPA. Only difference: we'll never know Trump's GPA. Threats of all kinds of legal action if the University ever reveals it.

Mr. Trump would have got his diploma either way, so I really don't care much.
If anyone DOES care, here's an article for you: https://www.phillymag.com/news/2019/09/14/donald-trump-at-wharton-university-of-pennsylvania/#:

Based on that article, it really sounds like an Elon Musk situation: he dropped out or wasn't able to graduate, but daddy Trump used his money to get Donald Trump a degree.

Can't get back the time I wasted reading through that Philadelphia magazine article.

People are far too obsessed with Trump to an irrational level on both sides of the equation and they both dirty themselves in terms of standards to either turn him into a Christlike figure or to demean him. Frankly, it is nauseating.

    That's certainly one take.

Another is that he a former President of the United States facing 71 felony counts and remains under investigation in other matters that may produce more. (While publicly denying everything.) In addition, he's a declared candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, and is the front-runner by far. (So far there is no legitimate claim to second place.) Finally, he's an extremely public figure who says and does the most vile things a former president has ever said and done. It's not even close.

I don't know about the ones who worship him. But the rest of the country has some very good reasons to pay attention to him, to report on him, to form judgments about him, and to speak out againt him at every opportunity (most of which he provides himself).

I THINK he keeps his transcript with his tax records... and if we see either it'll be a miracle.

No proof - but I think Daddy Bush may have done the same for his son. :)

That's the official story, both by Trump and the university. But if Daddy Trump paid off the university, I would expect the degree to be in the database with all the legit graduates. So I don't necessarily accept him being in the DB as proof of anything except that he did attend Wharton.

I don't like Trump either, but you know what they say about extraordinary claims.

I have no reason to doubt that Trump graduated from Penn. I also don't see any reason to believe anyone bent any rules to make that happen. But I'd bet a thousand bucks his transcript is just chock full of, um, "gentleman C's".

I don't see any reason to think rules were bent - that's maybe because
    (1) they weren't = or
    (2) maybe it it was all done covertly by people skilled in hiding their tracks.

It may not be valid, but I get SO MUCH more pleasure from possibility (2).
It's danged seldom I get any pleasure from thinking about Donald Trump. I'll take what I can get.
