Born in prison? Going to Harvard on a full scholarship? Great story. Good to hear. Kudos and props to Sky Castner and her mentor, Mona Hamby. And to Sky's father, who raised her as a single parent, despite facing difficulties himself.

A guy told me once that, years before, he'd gone to prison on a scholarship. But I think "Dat story got K-leg" as people often say in Nigeria. The yarn was told to me "a long time ago, in a tavern far, far away...." :)

Maybe we could have a new thread: "Graduated From Harvard, Now Headed To Prison." I'm sure there must be a couple of stories out there. It's been close to 400 years...:)

And I'd LOVE to see "Graduated from Wharton, Now Headed to Prison." You know who I mean...:(

Except I think he didn't even graduate from there? Just attended a few semesters and claimed to have graduated.

This would be a political section conversation.

There's a book, Monsters of the Ivy League: A Gallery of Elite Assholes (2017), filled with critical capsule biographies of people who indeed graduated from the Ivy League. They include "murderers, warmongers, traitors, plagiarists, slave traders, pederasts, and every other variety of moral reprobate."

Isn't that what the guy(s?) at DLTruth think of us at DI? :)

@JoshD - yeah, I suppose once we start talking about DJT... itcan be considered political. Regardless, I'm sure it's distasteful to some, for various reasons. So - I'm starting a new thread in the Political Forum. - "Did Donald Trump Really Graduate From Wharton. I'm recopying what was said here - that should do it, right?

I remember seeing a TV movie, "Homeless to Harvard" featuring Thora Birch from American Beauty fame in the lead as Liz Murray, who got into Harvard despite her circumstances. She eventually earning her Bachelor's and Master's from Columbia and now works as an inspirational speaker. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_Murray
