I've never lived in Missouri or Louisiana. Which one might be nicer? I'm so tired of this winter that the idea of living in a warmer place seems very attractive.

Go with Missouri. Louisiana isn't cold, but you do get the other extreme of heat with high humidity.

Well id personally pick Louisiana in a heart beat! Lets put it like this... a few weeks ago were I live outside Kansas City had 23inches snow in one day................granted this is not the norm for around here but it seems to happen every other year... one year its hardly no snow and the next they get a TON! oh and did I mention that the government and everything else in this state blows...............Louisiana is looking pretty good right now :)

I will gladly put up with the random snow/ice storm if it means green summers and many days spent at the lake. I'm also a little partial to the government because it basically created a job for the wife.

In having been to LA on numerous occasions (visiting or driving through) I personally would skip any thought of moving there (by choice) and move to Texas instead. I used to think of NC as the armpit of America until having experienced this state, and now..... *shutters*. Nothing but swamps and run down, dying cities. New Orleans used to be a bright spot, but post-Katrina it's still struggling to recover.

I hadn't realized that Louisiana was the last bastion of good government, but either way, based mostly on climate, I expect I'd prefer it to Missouri.

Once upon a time I heard that Missouri had a very low cost of living (housing prices, taxes, etc.) but that this was balanced off by having a high unemployment rate. If that is actually true then it might be a good choice if you've got a job waiting for you. On the other hand, you've got the whole ^unemployment = ^crime rate thing too. Sometimes I think that I'd like to move to southern Spain. I can't decide if it would be best to be on the Mediteranean side (like Cartegena) or on the Atlantic side (like Cadiz). That's my complaint for today - - - which side of Gibraltar? I can't decide!

A family member has relocated from the US to Spain...better place to raise the children. Absolutely loves it there.

LMAO! Nope I don't think Louisiana is any better in the government department, but 4 years of putting up with Missouri's and I need a change even if its crap......lol

Actually I don't think the housing prices here are that low really when you considers most jobs and the pay around here. The rental prices around here are crazy really for what you get..

But Spain... now that sounds better! Id go with Mediterranean side if it were me!

If we had a choice I still don't think Id pick Texas...been there done that..... So far the only place we have been with his job that we enjoyed was Florida followed by Arizona (my husband's like not my first choice but something I would consider).

Here's something that really chaps my behind:

I hate when I'm watching TV when I see a commercial for a restaurant that don't exist anywhere near me. (Most aren't even in my state)

    Grrr !!!!!!

New England is great but the taxes are horrible as is the winter weather and it's hot and humid in the summer. Other than that it's beautiful if you can afford it. I was born and raised there. I just recently moved to Texas as it's cheaper here and there are more jobs. Would I go back? Yes most definitely but only it I'm making really good money. From what I hear the northwest is very similar.

I got one of those today too. My first. I have no idea what they are about (not on the "other" forum).
