I think that the university/college name controversy is less interesting than the degree/non-degree function distinction. As I understand it, British law regulates the use of the word 'university', so Marquess will probably have to adopt the 'college' name in any case. But even assuming that it rolls out as a college, what exactly will it be offering?

Given the people involved, the BST wording, the impressive professor titles and the realities of the DL market, I fully expect to see some graduate degree programs. But I might be wrong about that (it certainly wouldn't be the first time).

Actually, if Marquess ends up offering something that's realistic, and if it places educational integrity ahead of internet marketing, it might turn out to be valuable.

Perhaps John knows that he isn't the only one interested in Marquess and he's asking his questions for all of us.

You've posted a tremendous amount of verbiage that all seems to reduce to 'I like these people and they let me do whatever I want'. That's great for you and it probably does explain why you got involved.

The trouble is that's all Quinn-centric. It doesn't give other people, particularly mere normals like myself, any credible reason to think that Marquess is worthy of more trust than MIGS, Knightsbridge and SRU deserved before it.

As you say, we will have to wait for Marquess to eventually resurface. When last seen it had so many red flags flying that it looked like a Mao tse Tung rally. But maybe it will surprise us.

    Quick response:

    • No degrees. Nothing even vaguely construed to be a degree.
    • Diplomas at various levels with names clearly not to be construed to be degrees.
    • Quinn-centric -- yes -- because I'm responding as Quinn, not as the College. This is to be understood -- I'm explaining my role/part -- not the whole of the place.

I am hoping one of the moderators will declare this thread has run its course and lock it.

I appreciate your direct and very honest response Quinn. So does Marquess have a spokesman or at least a President/CEO? Thanks.

Those who do not remeber the past...

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Well, not really: the egos, the lies, the lack of ethics, and (especially) the hypocrisy, just seem to get bigger and bigger.

Dear Quinn, I am also writing this as a private citizen. You are consorting with known " bad guys". These are the same people who got SRU busted. FACTS. Yours Truly, Nikolas Horthy P.S. Quinn here's a simple flow sheet for you to follow with your current education business: Past=Shady Present=Bad Future=Busted

Smartest thing I've read all day. I'm angry with myself for not just removing the reference to Quinn from the thread-starting post before anyone got a chance to see it. I spotted it that early, but resisted the impulse; then went a different direction in the hope that the truth would come out and would, by its having done so, satisfy and resolve. I realize now that that was a mistake. Even the thread-starter has expressed regret over that aspect of it. I see this as a failure of moderation... and my fault for its having evolved to what it now is when I could have stopped it.

    This is finished.

    Thread closed.

And welcome back, Gus. You've been missed.
