Lightweight? That's all you've got? You have to do better than that! You're not worth my time, tough guy.

So... like... you two are just screwin' around, right? 'Cause this is startin' to sound like a bad vaudeville sketch.

Rich or Dr. Douglas, which ever you go by, I did not make any "grand conclusions about its qualilty." I merely stated facts about what CSU has done and accomplished over the years. If you feel as though this is "irresponsible" due to me being connected as one of the CSU alumni officers, your entitled to whatever opinion(s) you deem appropriate.

You're so quick to make criticisms and jump to conclusions of someone you don't even know. I'm not here to pick a fight. I enjoy talking with everyone and learning about all of the online universites out there.

Oh, I get it. Pick a fight, get called on it, then scamper off. Fine. I expected as much, which is why I told you to bring it on. You said, "Are you sure that you want to get personal? You'd better think real hard before you start that nonsense with me." Well, I'm sure. Go ahead. Or are you just full of sh*t like I thought? Yeah, like I thought.

Mike Douglas could do good vaudeville. Probably stunk at DL.

Jamie: Correct me if I'm wrong, but did I see something about Columbia Southern offering a DBA? I couldn't find anything on their website and now I'm worried about my memory maybe getting rather a bit foggy in my old age.

I refuse to sink to your level

Just to set the record straight, I am not the one who picked a fight. You responded to Mr. Gauthier's post and called it inappropriate well before I decided to get involved in the discussion. Basically, you picked a fight with Mr. Gauthier, and then demonstrated your hypocrisy by engaging in inappropriate name calling yourself.

I'm not scared of you and I’m not scampering anywhere. However, I am not going to engage in an online name calling contest with you. Is that what you thought I meant? That would just make you look silly.

I’ll tell you what: If you really wish to continue calling me names, feel free to stop by home and do it to my face. Send me a PM next time you are in the Philadelphia area, and I’ll be sure to make time for you.

In closing: It should be noted that you behavior here is what gives DL a bad name. When someone says something you don't like or agree with, you call them a clown and jerkoff? I know you wouldn’t dare think of doing that in real life. It's painfully obvious that your lack of face to face classroom interaction has been detrimental to your emotional growth.

Ummm...back to the original topic, I would be interested in hearing from any CSU grads about what they thought of the program. What did you think about the rigor of the courses? How has the degree been accepted by employers and other schools, particularly RA? Thanks.

    My dear Mr. Gauthier/Ms. Gauthier,

Why do you, a graduate of an accredited college, use terms like "spelling police?" Is fluency in English an unreasonable expectation? [Besides, many so-called spelling errors are a sign of a lack of understanding of grammar and syntax. Had you typed thefe or therr or 5here, the suspicion would not arise that, degree and all, you do not understand the difference between there and their.] You posted in order to bang the drum for your school. Being snide with someone--especially of John Bear's stature--who observes your misspelling rather punches a hole in that drum.

No, those names are reserved for you. You earn them.

As for the classroom, I've been teaching in one for the last 26 years, and am doing so even now. Geez, don't you do any homework? I post about it all the time. Not that what I post is important, of course, but if you're going to continue to be insulting, at least get your facts right. Furthermore, I've only taught one online class--nor have I ever claimed to have done more. Good job, big guy. Try getting your information correct before showing off your ignorance yet again.

(Apologies to the group, but I'm not taking this idiot's inane commentary towards me. That he chooses to invite me to a fight simply goes to further demonstrate his tenor on this board. I'm simply not going to take it.)

Yeah, but did you get invited to a Philly butt-kickin'? :D

Rich says: Actually, I questioned his behavior. You chose to butt in.

Bush04: Butt in? You questioned his behavior, and I questioned yours.

Rich says: But you threatened to do so. Your words implied you had some sort of menacing ability, and I want to see it. Bring it on.

Bush04: Of course I have menacing ability, but I am not a menace! Accordingly, I would never take menacing action. I would never publish all of your personal information, for example (hypothetically), just to make some kind of point or prove myself to you.

Regardless, I never implied that I have menacing ability. What I did do, however, was warn you not to make things too personal. That warning stands. If you continue to harass, and possibly even threaten, appropriate action (within the law) will need to be taken against you.

Rich says [in defense of his using the names listed below]: No, those names are reserved for you. You earn them.

Bush04: So far, in only this one thread, you have made the following remarks: lightweight, petty, jerkoff, clown, ignorant, idiot, and probably others that I missed. Once is one thing, but systematic personal attacks are just not acceptable. What’s more is that throughout your harassing posts, you also said you would be coming at me with both barrels.

In such a context, I take that as a threat. Only those who have indefensible positions resort to threats, harassment, and name calling. You are in violation of TOS, and who knows, maybe even the law. Either way, you have shown your true colors, and should not be permitted to continue posting here. You’re a class act, through and through.

Rich says:: As for the classroom, I've been teaching in one for the last 26 years, and am doing so even now. Geez, don't you do any homework? I post about it all the time.

Bush04: Boy, you must think highly of yourself, Rich. How dare I not keep up to date on the life of Rich Douglas? Maybe I should forget about my final year of law school and just read your degreeinfo posts all day, every day? It’ll be like a soap opera!

In any case, what I do remember is how you stated in one of our UoP debates that you teach for them, or at least used to. I reminded you that they are one of the most complained about schools in the United States and maybe even the world. I explained that if you picked almost any large grouping of schools and combined their complaints, they would likely have far fewer than UoP. I wonder why that is?

I don’t know what classroom you teach in now (if you even do). What I do know is that you didn’t spend much time learning in the classroom, and that may have affected you? In the classroom or not wouldn’t really matter much at all, but as a DL graduate, in many ways you represent distance learning itself. So, my main point was that your behavior here reflects poorly on other distance learners who do not disrespect, harass or even threaten others.

Rich: That he chooses to invite me to a fight simply goes to further demonstrate his tenor on this board. I'm simply not going to take it.

Bush04: Maybe it’s you who needs to do his homework? I think you should re-read my comments. I never threatened you in any way, and I never invited you to a fight. I stated I would be willing to meet with you to discuss this further, and assured you of my availability. The invitation is still on the table. Feel free to drop me line next time if you are in the area.

Of course, I doubt that you will because then you won’t be able to get away you’re your harassing behavior. Outside the safe confines of your pc screen, you would be required to maintain civility. And you have shown here that such a thing is probably not possible! Who knows? Maybe with time, and possibly some anger management, you’ll change your mind.

The bottom line: You have crossed the line! I disagreed with your criticism of Mr. Gauthier’s post and you attacked me personally. Unacceptable! I have continued to engage and debate you in a respectful manner, and I have refrained from any sort of name calling. You, on the other hand, clearly have not. And this, sir, is unacceptable! Your transparent attempt to play the victim has failed. Let it go.
